Growing on a budget?

Hey RIU I'm wondering I go to my local hydro store and holy shot they are expensive!!!!!! So started to think this stuff has to be cheaper else wise, so RIU where are the cheapest places to buy ballasts, lights, hoods, nutes?

I got lots of my stuff at garage sales.Gardening is popular round 'ere.Craigslist is full of stuff here also

I like their hoods. I shop elsewhere for the ballasts ... am currently running a Lumatek ballast. i agree ... Amazon for good deals with a warranty. cn

Only get a digi ballast if you hate watching cable tv, or letting your neighbors watch theirs :).

You get what you pay for. You may get a ballast on the cheap, but there will be a much higher chance of it going out. A Digital Greenhouse ballast from HTGsupply comes with a 3 year warrenty. It stops working. Take it back, they give you a new one.

Its not an expensive ballast either.

The decision is clear.

I guess I'm lucky. I've never had an issue. As for the neighbors, [rude gesture]. They drive their freakin DodgeRam into the back yard at 2 a.m. and load/unload a trailer. [stronger rude gesture] and i must now make a parabolic reflector, bwahahaaaa. cn

Ballasts interfering huh, all my current ballasts are magnetic, what's the big difference (like just better usage of energy?.)

ive never had a problem with my modem and a cable box directly above my digi ballast. There in the exact same corner but ballast is in basement, rest is in main level.

cheep now can = expensive later.

Having said that I could easily grow very smokable weed with a $100 t5 and $20 for a tub of salt fertz for veg and one for flower would last several rotations.
That is 140 plus cheap soil and electric

Ah lemme rephrase hehe I already have equipment just wanna ditch a 600 watt hehe for another 1k! By cheap I just mean deals ya know not what hydro would charge me

Best to not buy from hydro stores
