Hey peeps,
Since this is my first post on this forum let me say I've been reading up on grows and am really impressed with how helpful everyone is - keep it up people, let's make this world green and skunky! And, oh yeah, fuck the prohibition
About my grow then... This will be my first and I'm looking to do it all organically (props go to fdd2blk for his "It's all Bullshit" thread). It will be done on the island of eternal spring - Tenerife. Not gonna grow anything fancy for the first season, just some tried and tested quality sativa strains to cut my teeth into. Got a few local connections on the island which should provide some quality clones and there's also a couple of quality grow shops on the island with a good seed variety.
My reason for asking for help from FL/HI/Mexico growers is that they're (roughly) on the same latitude. Some high level stats for the North of the island:
From the homework I've done so far it seems reasonable to kick off indoors so that I can provide the long hours needed for vegging.
Having said all that the input I'm looking for is in the following areas:
- Would it be safe to kick off outdoors straight from germed seeds / rooted cuttings? If yes, when should that be done? My cannabis-growing-common-sense would say End of March / Start of April but if I knew for sure I wouldn't be asking
- Since the humidity is quite high where I'll be at is it worth considering a greenhouse setup? Wind is pretty constant there so I'm thinking about setting up a natural ventilation system with movable inlets so I can get the most out of the natural airflow.
If you can contribute with any other specifics I should be concerned about when growing at that latitude it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, any input from Tenerife growers is especially valuable. The Spanish laws allow growing for "own use" and I know loads of people are doing it on their porches - any ideas for me guys?
