Growing slower?

Should my plant be bigger, or is it growing at a good pace?

Hey guys, I’m pretty new to growing, I’m working with my first plant right now actually. Unsure of the strain, came from my bud’s random pack of seeds. I’m on day 33 since I put the germinated seed in the solo cup, using soil as a medium. I’ll point out that I wasn’t able to afford a grow tent, huge lights, or the fancy soil and food everyone talks about. I have a simple trash can setup with foil inside for the same reflectiveness, and I’m using a dual head grow lamp. My question is should my plant be any bigger than it is at this time? I’m on the 4th set of leaves (second set of 5 fingered,) and this is what I have after the 33 days. Thoughts and opinions? It is quite small for its age. Do you not have any ventilation? Def could use more light but heat is an issue in an enclosed spacelike that. Also could use a fan... it looks healthy for now but i see many issues in the near future. Goodluck

Thank you for replying so quickly. I’m in a situation as I said where I couldn’t get a grow tent, so I have it in my room, in a corner, my fan is on, so that’s what I’m trying to work with. I know I might sound silly for trying to grow with this little equipment and proper technique. It’s not enclosed and I test the heat, and it’s not anywhere near bad. And I know a lot of experienced growers say don’t use Miracle Gro, but again that’s what I had, the Potting Mix, whichever makes the bloom bigger, but apparently not. Could you describe some of the issues you’re referring to? And honestly, if there’s no hope for it growing larger and catching up, when could I try to at least get a little bud off of it? After all, it’s a first grow, and I’m definitely learning what not to do or what to get for my second time.

Aslong as you have an intake at or near the bottom / exhaust out the top with a fan and another fan blowing on your plant im sure you could get some bud off it lol. You'll likely need something more powerful fan and lightwise. And yeah miracle really is not great for mj. Keep an eye on humidity.

Thanks again man. I think I’m gonna try to put it in 12/12 just so I can try and get at least some bud off of it, and start fresh and better equipped my second time growing. I’ll post picture updates as it goes. By the way, what’s your opinion on 12/12 from seed? I’ve seen a lot of people praise and criticize it, I’m tempted to get a seed going to the side just to try it.

Ditch the foil. If your walls are white itll reflect better. Also could be your light.. whatcha got? Some people are great miracle growers somehow lol. Not for me but alas. Try posting in led if you dont get many answers here.

It’s a fast way to get a few grams of flower per seed, but also a pain to manage many tiny plants if they remained in cups.
I currently have only 4 Solo sized plants in a grocery bag. I have room for six bags. They will each deliver a little more than if in a solo cup. With six bags, and I’m calculating 3.5g per plant x 24= 84g/3oz. That’s 1 oz per month...not quite enough for me. I’d have to double that for the math to work for me, and that’s doable. I have thousands of seeds I’ve bred over years. 2019’s are the biggest, prettiest, and most viable yet. NYDiesel Kush 50/50

Your makeshift space bucket is a good start. Cannabis is resilient to our efforts to kill her. You’ll do better each grow. And one day have decent soil and lights to match your skill. Keep at it and enjoy the process!

Many people do 12/12 from seed for micro grows when they don't have the space.

Thank you for replying. It’s a simple dual head grow lamp I got off of amazon, as I couldn’t get ahold of one of the 300w panel lights or something of the sort.

Impossible to tell...And plants can double in size when you flip into flower. I would let them grow a little more. Even if you flip right now your still at least 8 weeks away from chopping.

I was the same way with my first grow. I started with bare essentials and worked my way up. You can get a thermometer/hydrometer on ebay for like $5. Cheap one but they work and are accurate.

First time I grew, I used a cardboard box and pc fans with bunch of CFL-s plugged in a power strip. Use this run for learning purposes while you save up for couple of basic things. Doesn't cost too much these days to get going. I'm still using PC fans I bought years ago in my tent right now.
As far as 12/12 from seed goes, who says you have to use solo cups ? Definitely go bigger containers if you're going to try it. I did it in a solo cup last year for a contest on here and it's pain in the ass to babysit
