Growing with CFL's on a budget...

Well I decided I would start a grow journal. I do not have any updated pictures at the moment, but will hopefully by thursday or friday!

Equipment:​

Lights: 4-26w daylight 6500k CFL's
1-42w daylight
Fan(s): Currently only one so far. Mini 6" with a 2speed control, seems to be working quite well, temp is staying at or around 75-78 with 40-55% humidity.
Box details: Well kind of redneck engineered but found an old wooden tv casing from like the 80s lol, nice and roomy:). 1.5ft deep x 3ft wide x 2ft tall.
Seeds: Some ol bagseed from some raunchy ass dank.​

This is 4.5 days after germination began.






It is now day 10. It is about 3x that size since using my new CFLs. Prolly 3.5" tall and going on 3rd node set. Will have pics updated asap!​

I made a new discovery this early morning! I had dropped an extra seed when I was planting and could never find it in the pot, well I got to loosening up the top soil a little and uncovered that other seed that was missing!

The root was still pearly white and had its first set of leaves which are like a lime green color. Well I thought what the heck and got my spare bucket of dirt and put it in its own little pot, so maybe it will pull through(crosses fingers).

I am using a mix of 3 parts sphagnum peat moss/1 part organic potting soil/1 part regular ol dirt(pretty rich stuff, came out of the garden that produced a 5lb tomato woot!)

I havent started using any nutes at all yet, besides what is in the peat moss and the potting soil. Something like .05/.02/.04 I do believe. Started out with one, and forgot that I had dropped a seed in the soil and couldnt find it lol. Found it this morning when I was turning the top soil, so I got it in its own little pot and maybe it will survive!

I will be using organic nutes starting of week 3 maybe 4. More than likely FF. Flowering I will use the tiger bloom and voodoo juice. But will get into the flowering when the time comes.

show me to the feminized bag seed!! lol i need to buy some this grow 12 plants to get 5 females garbage is GARBAGE!! lol

**UPDATE**

No pics, but I just went to turn my lights and fan back on after her 6 hour dark period and guess what?! I think the new seedling is going to pull through:D Gave it some water earlier before I turned the lights out, and went back just now and see it is putting out some green leaves, woot!!


lol, I hear ya man! I hope one or both of these two youngins will be a young lady....

I think I will wait til next week to go get it, or could I go get it now and go ahead and let it sit in the compost pile til it's time to use it?

just went out and checked it. Since I turned my lights back on at 5:15pm(1hr 12mins ago) It has grown nearly a 1/4 inch without any nutes at all. Lovin' it more everyday!

looks good dere johnny reb .. id would add some perlite and maybe some bio-tone to dat soil mix for some aeration/drainage and mycorrizae

I have the water granules mixed in with the soil..used 1tbsp for the one liter pot. It says it is supposed to help with aeration and drainage. Seems to be working. I am going in the morning to pick up my perlite, walmart ran out and had them order me a brand that their store doesnt carry, but all the others do(supercenters etc..).

Well decided to go get some nutes for the future.

Got a mix of some organic ferts that are 7-12-8.

Was told this would help with stem, root and help produce more lucious, dense buds.

Still waiting for camera to arrive to show some updated pics!

**UPDATE**

I know I shouldnt have done this so soon, but I got my rabbit poo and made the tea. Poured ~1/8 of a cup around my plant, 5+/- minutes before I turned my lights off. I got them on a 19/5 schedule and seem to be doing awesome!

Will get pics as soon as I can get them:joint::peace:

Looking great (sounds great LMAO) Cant wait to see the outcome. I tried Cfls at first but just seemed like i was spending the same amount of money as i would of if i just went out and bought a hps. But cfls work good.

lol! Hope to have pics by thurday, friday at the latest!

I just went and checked on it, and discovered I got a couple small light leaks, gotta get those fixed in a little bit. Wish I could find some more free mylar lol!

goto walmart/kmart/target camping section and buy a couple of the 2-3$ emergency blankets . thats what i use or a dark tarp if ya dont need light reflection
