growing with T5 in soil organically

im looking to cultivate in grow boxes with T5 light fixtures growing in organic soil using organic fertilizers n compose teas. my first question is im trying to figure out about how many lumen s i need per plant if im trying to obtain 4 foot plants, prob. about two plant per a 6 ft tall top to bottom 3 to 4 ft. long across from side to side and 2 feet wide from back to front......my second question is should i use one big eight light t5 fixture or two smaller 4 bulb light fixtures to obtain the right lumen amount. i heard i should have no worries on the heat aspect due to the T5 not emitting much heat.

Well brother what you really want is 6-10 thousand foot candles. just divide your lumen output by your sqft to get foot candles. It is always better to have more than one point of light, so two would be better than one t5. CF are great for veg, but not so much for budding. Unless you have side lighting, your plants will not produce optimal results. The lights do get kinda warm, warmer than you think. So get some fans to keep that air moving. One other thing, You will have to keep the CF's inches from your canopy cause the light does not penetrate well. Good luck!
