I joined IG well after I joined RiU, so I had already encountered you before I ever hit the Gram. I don't follow people I dislike.

@sunni you should unblock him and restore his posts just to show what a Class A hypocrite he is for banning people from RIU but continuing to post here himself. Plus I have issues with criticising people who aren't here to defend themselves (so now I'm also a hypocrite, lol!). Plus it's always good to be reminded of what people are like. Once their posts are removed, some tend to forget and the noobs will never know . . .

I say give him enough rope. But that's just me.

Well I don't think you have anything to lose.

If you unban him and he continues to post, then he becomes the very person he despises – for all to see.

If you unban him and he doesn't continue to post, then he's a man of his word.

You always have the option of banning him later if he's not a man of his word.

GreengenesGarden have given this forum more than enough great content, helped thousands, and were a generally nice guy. But when you start stealing money, breaking contracts, and then promoting libel and slander in retaliation...it just shows the true colors of this forum and sunni. And she can't have that now can she.

Nice idea though @Prawn Connery. And respect for not talking shit behind closed doors and wanting to do it in person. Honestly...respect man. Classy in an otherwise unclassy situation.

Well I guess I've always had a problem with "boot parties" where one person is lying on the ground getting the shit kicked out of them from all sides with no way to fight back. Whether that person deserves to be lying on the ground or not.

My other issue is if you are going to block people for being members of RIU – no exceptions, and even people who have been loyal to you over the years like @lukio – yet continue to post here under a sock puppet account, then everyone deserves to make their own judgements on that.

You either apply the same rules to yourself or you reconsider and admit your original stance was silly. You can't have it both ways and expect people to respect you for it.

As for what we post on this site, like everything we post on the internet, we make that choice knowing it might be up here for as long as the internet is around. I do not necessarily agree that RIU "owns your arse" as soon as you post here, but it is your own choice to participate. Making money from a website is no different to making money from a newspaper, magazine or television reality show: the punters provide the content and you are rewarded for providing the platform. People get exploited all the time on various platforms, but again it's their choice to participate knowing that perhaps things won't always go their way.

If you don't like it, you don't participate.

But there's also the flip side of the argument, too: the very platform that some say exploits its members is exploited in turn by some of its members who use it for their 15 minutes of fame or to sell products or push their own agenda.

It's meant to be a symbiotic relationship. But sometimes the host gets hungry and eats the hangers-on and sometimes it's the other way around.

As for all the bullshit, some forums have tried to address that over the years by providing a separate platform for no-holds barred discussion. overgrow.com had the "Shark Tank", planetganja.com (my old site) was a completely unmoderated grow site except for one golden rule: no personal information (doxxing) was allowed. Apart from that, discuss what you like how you like. It was not for the feint-hearted, and neither was the OG Shark Tank (on which planetganja was modelling after the new OG owners closed the Shark Tank and a bunch of us split off from there).

I'm only telling you all this so you know where I'm coming from when I say I'm all for giving people their own forum to thrash things out. Unfortunately it doesn't always work – especially when Shark Tank style grudges carried over into the grow forums on OG – and I can understand why a site such as this would be reluctant to do it here.

Anyway, I am addressing someone who has no real way of responding, so perhaps this post is a bit pointless. But if you are reading it, then I would ask you to reconsider your position. There are many reasons why you should – all listed in this thread – so I don't need to repeat them.
