you are stressing the plant. plants need rest too. kind of like your muscles rebuild during sleep. if it is a seedling with low fluoro watts you can keep it 24/0. but say for instance its a clone do 18/6

Yes during the dark period the plant grow has much has when the lights are on.i have done hundreds of test on growth time scedule's feed phing the water see how much this rely matters.and my little test that i did not so long ago on the plants i'm gowing now, well one of them trainwreck the plant grew 5 mm while the lights was off ans the same when the light was on so on avearage the growth is around the same with trainwreck during lights off.i had some trouble with the greenhouse seeds since they have started the gimmik coulouring of there seeds.since putting the coulouring on the seeds it is def increases the germanating of the seeds.greenhouse we are not stupid we can read i had 100% success with gemanating the seeds b4 the coulouring gimmik came in.they should give the choice of couloured seeds and none couloured.

This may be a dumb question...Just curious... does the plant grow during the dark time?

this is far from a dumb question. a lot of people wonder this same thiing and question it alot. the answer is yes, plants continue to grow in the dark often more rapid than when the lights are turned on. the plant, when lights are off and the girls ares resting, are able to restore all their energy to create new development for leaves, flowers, stem and roots. if you notice throughout your grow, everytime your lights turn back on for the day, your plants will have grown a lot from the previous day!in veg, if everything is done properly plants can grow anywhere from 1" - 4" a day. same goes for flowering when the plant experiences its growth spurts.:peace:

a really easy thing to do is...

using flouro's for the first 7 days run a 24/0 light schedule this will get them up out of the soil faster. after the 7 days change your light schedule to 20/4 for another 7 days. this will help to promote the growth of the plants first maybe even second set of sun leaves. after those 7 days are up, change your light schedule to 18/6 for the rest of your veg cycle. once you hit the 18/6 schedule your plants will explode with height and new growth between stem, roots, stem and branches.
