GSC I can't figure out if she is ready

The issue with taking pictures of the leaves and leafs protruding from the bud is that they're going to mature a LOT fast that the ones on the bud itself. Now if you jam that scope deep into the bud itself, you can really get a better picture of what's going on; kinda like a thermometer in the center of a roast. This is when *I* like to harvest. A majority are that milky plastic color, a handful of amber, and a handful of clear. Now at this point, I can let her go for another week and she'll just put on more trics, but the cost differential vs output I don't feel is worth it, nor do my clientele. Some guys here will call me crazy and say I need to wait AT LEAST 2 weeks before I even consider harvesting her; others say that the amount of amber on the plant is pushing dangerously close to "spoiled". Again, this is what I as well as my clientele prefers, so this is when I harvest it. But good job on the GSC, she looks tasty!

Thanks for the great explanation!
I will take photos again tomorrow with the scope this way exactly.
Yes, the GSC is a beast!

3 plants (GSC on the right, WW on the left, Aurora at the front) - same age, same feed, look how big she is :)

First and foremost, its personal preference. Second, a better picture would be more insightful. A way of getting that picture is by really getting that scope into the bud itself.
Something like this...

Isn't a lot of amber gives heavy body couch lock high?

More amber on the buds, not the leaves, will generally lead to more of a couch lock high. A very small percentage of the active cannabinoids we seek are on the sugar leaves, no matter how frosty they are, so that is another reason we completely disregard the trichomes on leaves.

GSC is beautiful

I grow GSC auto from Fastbuds. The last 2 years i've never had a problem with one finishing.

Usually 63-70 days from seed and they are good to go.

Your girls look phenomenal!!

Ok, I took some scope photo from the bud (very hard to photo the GSC without sugar leafs - she has a lot)

And not so much amber.

Checking in the cannabis encyclopedic of Cervantes, he is checking for amber on leaves and not on buds...
Very confusing.

Also, I think the top of the buds are getting a bit dry, compare to before, feels dry to touch, is it possible?
Humidity is 35% +- but it maybe a bit close to the light and I am on max height.

This is the hard part for beginners.. maybe look basic after knowing what to do, but I heard so many opinions and approaches that I am actually have no idea how much more to wait.

61 days since flip - end of week 8.
According to nirvana its 7-9 weeks flowering time.

This is the biggest bud, 3 days diff (on the right is the new photo from yesterday) and I don't see any progress...

It's been a while since I drooled over some pretty buds like that. I have got to try that shit. The only time I harvest a touch early is if I have another batch of clones getting big and I need the flower room. If I'm not under pressure I would let plants like yours go another week. I would either raise the lights or go with smaller bulbs the last week to 10 days while they are finishing. You don't want to dry them out with hot lights.

Something I do, and to each their own; in soil, i stop watering her 5 days before i know im harvesting as im usually watering every 2 days at this point. Just to get a head start. They aren't suffering at that point just seems to dry a couple days faster, before I jar them up.

Thanks :)

I added few cm to the height, I am on max height now - 35-40 cm.
Before was 30-25 cm.

I am actually feel that most of the tops of the buds are dryer than before...
Also humidity is 35%-40%.

Leaves also are very dry.

I think Saturday will be a good harvest day, not full week but I checked now on the calyx and there are some trichomes that getting some bright amber.

So I started this post Monday before, 10 days, and I have been told to wait 2 weeks :)
I think this Saturday will give 12 days, 3 days from now, she will be Ok I hope.

I don't want to get sleepy high....

Thanks you all guys for all your help!
Much appreciated <3

Tomorrow is harvest day!

Today she is 63 days since flip, 9 weeks exactly.

Buds are getting dry - I don't get it - is 40-35% humidity is too low?
I have no choice the air condition is 24/7 and I add some humidifier (in the room not in the tent) to hold it on 40%.

Here are some photo of the current state and scope photos from calyx only.
Note that not all buds have heavy amber like this one - more photos are in the thumbnails but off course I upload only the photo with amber.

If you think I am wrong - say something now or forever hold your peace :)

Thank you all again for saving me from early chopping.

Harvest and trim!

Around 30 buds, some are very big.

I decided to left the bottom buds to develop some more, after all the tent still works for the WW and the Aurora (that is getting dry from day to day)

The photo of the tent is after harvest

The aurora is loosing all the fan leaves as a result of dryness? I am not sure, going to open a post in the right forum. this is my second try with Aurora that its happening.
The GSC is a beast! really very good strain.

I will give the top buds of the WW few more days, then I will cut them and leave the bottom buds to develop too for 2 weeks.

Those are so beautiful. I have to watch out for mold on fat buds like that. I would be suicidal if I got mold in buds like that. I think I'm ready for another seed order.

How do you watch beside good ventilation and right humidity?
Or maybe you mean to get mold after the harvest?

Its in a big Wedryer the same room as the tent, 22C in the room +- , 40% - 35% humidity.
Not the best for drying process, but the best I can do.
