GSC Outdoors(?)

What's up ya'll? First of all, hello to everyone. This is my first post on rollitup. I'm an experienced grower, and I used to be a member over at GC, but it is a little unprofessional over there. I've poked around the rollitup forums for a while now and people seem to be knowledgeable and cool. And, there seems to be a lot of fellow NorCal natives on here, which I like.

Anyway, my partner and I have gotten our hands on a batch of Girl Scouts (that sounds so bad if you don't know what I'm talking about hahah), and it being a fairly new strain to the scene, I have yet to hear of it being grown outside. We weren't necessarily looking to experiment with something that wasn't "tried and true" outdoors, but now we don't really have a choice because we've already taken possession of these little beauties. They are very healthy and vigorous in 1 gallons in part sun/part shade so far, but, of course, I'm mostly concerned with what I can expect our finished product to look like and yield to be.

Has anyone grown this outside before, or even heard of it being done? Or, maybe somebody is trying it out for the first time too? Get at me with some info, if you have it!

P.S. I'm not really interested in discussion pertaining to the ridiculous price of obtaining GSC genetics or whether or not it is "too popular," "trendy," or any of that nonsense. We could all talk about those things until fucking harvest and after, but I'm really only interested in talking about growing the strain outdoors. Anyone else?

Nice. What's the climate like where you are? What are they looking like as far as their branching/spacing? i.e. Is it a big stretcher so far?

They are handling the extreme heat just fine at 103 degrees where I'm at and Spacing is average about 2" apart due to the size
of the plants. A little stretch to none due to the toppings to make them wide at 4'
so far. GSC's are very vigorous growers outdoors and very fun to grow. They also love attention
but very easy to grow.

I myself have a cut going, could be some fookies but oh well(fake cookies)
roots are insane and thriving very well in 100 degree weather

Nice never heard of fookies! There is a 124 page thread going on GSC you might
want to check out. You might get a kick out of it and it is very
informative. Post some pix of your plant when you get a

yeah i grabbed the cut while i was in La. It was their "Private Reserve" GSC cut, i don't necessarily care if its the real deal. as longs as its good quality then Im fine with that.
its going in my pretty good size greenhouse, so I think ill be a 6-8 footer

I had gsc out last year an they purpled up quite a lot. cut em down second week of november, i stay in the valley Nor Cal Native ;] ayy dont they love the nutrients thoo? mine gsc gets dark green more than than any other plants i have

Yeah she was purple in october and buds didn't finish till november in ma greenhouse and they were pretty big colas they become nice and spread out reminded me of some old school grand daddy purple with stout nugs, it has kool branching that stretches great for indoors an when i put her under the 1000 she was beautiful bright green is one of the lower yielding plants but buds are nice and compact frosted so dank well worth it.

Thanks for all this info guys! I haven't been on in a few days because I've been out at the garden. The Girls are doing wonderfully. Ultra-hearty and vigorous for sure. We've been battling with these crazy high winds (North Valley) for the last few days. I think the plants are handling it better than we are haha.

Seriously? November? It definitely has some sativa-like growth characteristics, but I was hoping for a little shorter flower since we're not in a greenhouse. I'm still stoked it is getting positive reviews for outdoor growing. What size pots were you in and what kind of watering/feeding schedule did you use? I'm really curious about your per-plant yield.

i feed once a week in a 35g pot. gsc gave me a yield of 4 jars it could have been bigger it got uup to 4ft then started to lean lol
