Hey guys quick question:
I live in the Midwest in SE Ohio. Which side of a tree line should I plant? If it is a east to west tree line, should I plant on the north side or south side of the line? or a north to south tree line, should I plant on the east or west side of the line? Which is the most ideal overall? Thanks for any info!!

Seems like a silly question. If you plant it on the north it will be in the shade of the trees more, on the south side they will get more light.

Okay maybe I phrased the question wrong, what if there were a field surrounded by trees, which treeline would be considered ideal?

Best placement is where it gets the most sun, is far off trail, and not in big enough groups to be easily spotted from air. You should be able to look around and make a pretty accurate guesstimate of where the best light will be if you know the sun rises in SE and sets in SW, the more clear South and SE/SW exposures the better. So if trees are going to be close, better to have them to the north of the plants.

So on the southern side of the east/west treeline. Lol okay... I live by a bunch of old unfarmed cow pastures and gonna give guerrilla a go this season.

I always liked going out to the prospected grow site and checking out how the light was as the sun traveled thru the sky you'd be surprised at what you miss. Remember the leaves can block out some light as the trees fill out if your in the edge of the tree line and always be cognizant of what's overhead or in close proximity to your plants. I tell u this from a terrible experience I had several years back from a dead tree that came down in a storm. There's more to it than just sunlight be wise in your selection.

I had cows escape from the neighbors into where my guerilla plants were, guess what happened? Nope they didn't eat em, the clumsy fuckers knocked em over. It was ok though. Something to keep in mind. good luck out there.
