Guerilla Warfare - Part 3 - Mexican Sativa, Haze Special, Attitude B-day Fem Freebies

All 7 of the transplants (6 Mexican Sativa, 1 Haze Special) survived the transplant-process early last week, and are actually flourishing in their new grow environments (5-gallon buckets).

All the Fems and Attitude freebees are doing tremendous in their new 5-gallon bucket homes. The White Widow by Dinafem is really taking off, which is a big relief. It started off really small in the smaller containers, but it's really blossomed in the buckets.

Even the Jack The Ripper transplant is still alive.

It's been about 30 days so far for all the plants here.

The Mexican Sativa is growing very aggressively, as is the Dark Star, Heavy Duty Fruity, S.A.G.E., and White Widow. The Burmese Kush is coming along nicely after a very slow start. The Kushage is just establishing itself after all the transplanting and animal problems.

I have one really exceptional Haze Special that is almost 1-foot tall. The other 2 Haze Special are still very small and are fighting to establish themselves.

The 2 DarkStar are real stars. One has more Sativa leaves, the other more Indica-like leaves.

Really hoping I have at least one male DarkStar to work with....would love to breed with it in the future.

A major storm came barreling through last night, and many of the plants took quite a ride because of it.

Many of the plants were bent over, almost like they were LST'd. I promptly propped them back up with some twigs.

Good news is, no broken branches, and no major damage. These plants went through 60-70mph winds, yet still remain standing...and for that, I thank them...haha.

I know it's a weed and naturally a vigorous plant, but it never ceases to amaze me just how hardy marijuana is.

The 6 Mexican Sativa by Sensi Seedbank that are in buckets look great...you wouldn't even know that hell was unleashed last night on these plants by looking at these 6.

The other 4 Mexican Sativa that are in soda bottles (waiting for transplant) were all knocked over, so they look a little beat up, but again, no major damage on any of them.

The fems, DarkStar, Haze Special, and Heavy Duty Fruity all were bent over and almost all had to be prooped back up with sticks.

Despite all the drama from the storm, I was really surprised how much they'd grown in just a few days. The DarkStar, Haze Special, and Heavy Duty Fruity were all just massive compared to last week.

We had a bunch of sunny days, and I think that really helped their vegetative growth.

Here are some pics, and a video at the end:

Hey xebeche, thanks for stopping by.

Sorry I haven't updated this thread for a few months. My camera died, and I didn't want to upload the cell phone pics I was taking in lieu of a decent camera.

Well I've been diligently packing in water covertly most of the summer; just when it hasn't rained enough. This summer has actually been pretty decent for rain, compared to previous years.

I had a tarp tied to a few trees to collect water when it rains, and that thing worked like a champ this summer. It was hidden from view unless you were right on top of it, and I usually collected anywhere from 20-35 gallons of water in it each time it rained a lot.

I got paranoid after a while and disassembled it, instead opting to pack in water, which at 38 pounds for 5 gallons, is a bitch. I'm a strong enough dude, but even still, with 100 degree days and dew points in the mid-70s, it was a struggle at times.

At any rate, I had a slight bout with Caterpillars this year, but a spray of some organic-cat/spider mite spray knocked them out quick. The plants look a lot healthier because of all the rain and water they've received this year, which should mean higher yields when these are chopped in a few weeks.

Here's a quick rundown, plant-by-plant:

Mexican Sativa #1 and #2:

These are my two tallest and fastest flowering Mexican Sativa. They both have a
nice bow in them, as they're bent to one side from several strong thunderstorms.
This is actually great, as the lower branches will now get much better light
penetration than they otherwise would have received.

The buds are still swelling, but as you can see, these two are some hairy girls!
It's really striking how many orange pistils these Mexican Sativa's throw out.

Mexican Sativa #3 & #4

Mexican Sativa #3 is a medium size, but with nice branching and thick fluffy
buds, tinged with tons of orange pistils. A little bit slower to show maturity at
first, but is now catching up fast and developing just as fast as MS #1 and MS #2.

Mexican Sativa #4 is a bit larger than #3, but not as large as MS #1 or MS #2.
She is slowest to show it's sex, and is also the most moisture sensitive of the 4.
Pistils are still very white, but is maturing just as the other 3 Mexican Sativa
were when they were at that stage of development.

Burmese Kush

The Burmese Kush is one of the biggest disappointments this year. All things being equally (soil, water, sunlight, etc), this was the worst performing plant of all, even though it's pedegree is on the small side. The branches were of the weakest sort, and had several break from it's own weight...which wasn't much to begin with.

Even though this plant is said to be done flowering in 7 weeks (probably indoors), she still has at least 3 weeks left, which would put harvest at around mid-October (which temp wise is no problem). Just disappointed in it. Hopefully the high is mind-blowing...it does have OG Kush in it.

Kushage

This is gonna be one of my favorites, I can already tell. She remained pretty short and bushy, which is fine by me. She was partially pollinated with DarkStar pollen on a few branches, and I've already recovered several hundred beautifully tiger-striped seeds.

I've sampled a few choice buds during seed collection, dried it, and have really been pleased. The smell is very spicey and just well...sharp! This is gonna smell insane when it's finally cured. I've gotten a nice high off some buds I took a few weeks ago, so I'm sure they're really starting to layer on some trichomes now.

S.A.G.E.

The S.A.G.E. turned out to be one of the best plants this year. Huge plant in a 5-gallon bucket, it's multi-branching with really nice buds all over. Tall plant, due to it's Sativa heritage, but it has tighter spacing of the nodes than a pure Sativa.

This is a champ, smells and looks great. I can see why the head breeder at THSeeds loves this so much...really strong plant.

Sour AK

This turned out to be my favorite strain of this group. It was partially pollinated by some DarkStar, and during seed harvesting, I was able to dry some samples a few weeks ago.

I smoked two bowls of it about 5 hours ago, and I'm still coming down from the high, in a nice, gradual, non-burned out way. It's just Sour Diesel in all of it's glory. So lucky to get a strain like this to breed with.

As far as the plant itself, it looks like absolute hell. It had Catapillers all over it, and by the time I was able to stave them off, the damage was done. I had to harvest some of it as the branches broke, and what remained looked pretty bad.

The saving grace is that the buds that have survived smell absolutely mind-blowing. If you've ever tasted REAL Sour Diesel (not Soma's NYCD), then you'll know what I'm talking about. The high is fantastic, as is the smell/taste. Very recommended, but for maybe not for as humid of an environment.

Sour AK 1.jpgSour AK 1.2.jpg

White Widow

The White Widow showed the most Indica characteristics so far, except for flowering time. Really fat leaf blades during veg. It has a typically stacked look of an Indica, with leaves everywhere, which means it'll be a pain to trim, but hey...just more for FMB Hash!

Smells really sharp, clean...you can see it starting to really add some weight and thicken up the last few weeks. Partially pollinated her with some DarkStar.

White Widow 1.jpg
White Widow 1.5.jpgWhite Widow 1.4.jpg
White Widow 1.3.jpgWhite Widow 1.2.jpg

In conclusion, the plants have made it through the worst of it, and the weather looks favorable in the near future for continued trichome development.

Despite the plants showing obvious signs of over-watering/pH imbalance (spotting on the leaves), an occasional spider mite breakout, and some caterpillars, they're pulling through.

My goals were to produce viable seed from selected pollination's, and produce a couple pounds of bud.

I've already collected several thousand seeds from these strains, and in a few weeks should have at least 1-2 pounds of bud.

Now I've gotta hurry up and wait....wait for time to pass. :weed:

That's interesting that Sensi's Mexican Sativa would go moldy on you, considering it's almost pure Sativa (a Pakistani Hash Plant was bred into the mix, then it was recrossed back to the Mexican Sativa parent).

Sativa's are historically found in equatorial regions, where it's typically very humid year-round.

I've never been to Ireland before, but I can imagine the humidity is pretty intense from what I know about the country.

So far, not even a hint of mold on any of the 4 Mexican Sativa's, and the humidity at night usually hovers in the mid 90s all summer long here.

They're really beautiful plants...completely recommend them to anyone growing in the States, even in the most humid of conditions.
