You need more drainage in that soil. That looks like clay. Replant immediately in better soil or you will have problems.

Are you feeding them? If so quit and water only for a bit. You will end up needing cal/mag under that led.

detrimental is a little harsh ... topping won't kill his plant. but sure if you don't mind a little stress to gain colas.. topping is fine or you could fim.. and you know this isn't bad advice. I'm not saying top 2 times a week. I said once maybe twice.

It is hard on a lot of autos. Some don't take well to it. Autos have a set veg time. It can take a week to 10 days for some strains to recover some get over it in a few days. The ones that take a while to get over it loose very important veg time.
Cannabis is apical plant. The goal of topping or fimming is to redistribute auxins. It normally increases yield. On photo plants I prefer aroun 12-16 tops when I flower.
Since the goal is to evenly distribute auxins then lst would work better for over all yield. Just keep tying them down and the branches to keep an even canopy.
Autoflowers (ruderalis) use their tap root to determine flower. There are things one can do to increase veg time and yield. Use a bigger container. 3 gallons at least. Higher amounts of nitrogen also extend veg time. Autos respond better to veg nutes the whole grow. Plant straight to final pot.
Do those things and you can grow some 3-4 ft autos. The two on the right are right at 3 ft. Those are 15 inch wide pots that hold five gallons.
