Gypsum as ph buffer?

I've been trying for a while now to get dolomite lime but I can't find it anywhere, in my country there's something called 'white lime' that all over the place and one of its uses is to stop the stink of dead animals you just sprinkle it over the carcass, no ones heard of garden or argricultural lime just this white lime. I had a conversation with a guy today and he told me I could use gypsum as a ph buffer, if so how realiable would it be and what proportions should be used?

Thats Hot lime . Don't use it. Can you get ground coral?

Are you talking about hydro? If so, your nutes are the best buffer. If your nutes aren't keeping pH in an acceptable range, and there's no other condition, try another nute product. I use Humboldt Master A & B and I never worry about pH.

What about peat moss??? Itz a good pH buffer, too...
