H2O2 sterilization time.

I've always used a gallon of H2O2 to sterilize my sysTems and reses after a run. I usually let it circulate for a few days. How long do I actually need to let it circulate for for thorough sterilization?

What percentage are u using? I have no clue as I used it only diluted in res every week, it was 29%. I found it very pricey and now use bleach to run through system before a run and tea after that.

27%. It's pricey but bleach leaves a residue sometimes, I hate scrubbing.
I've never had an issue with residue but I do rinse it out really well and run straight water through it as well. And really I guess in the whole scheem of things peroxide is not a bank breaker. It is a bitch to find here though.

No residue at the proper concentration.

I'm not that familiar with H202 contact times (which vary by concentration) but I'm guessing 1-2 hours max.

A few days is actually quite a bit worse.

I dont know about running vinegar through a system treated with h2o2, you might end up with peracetic acid... a stronger disinfectant but it is corrosive..
