Had to harvest early :(

I had 60/40 Trichs cloudy/clear but in the flushing period today I realized I had a Nute lock problem or something but the rusting red spots were going into the cola (up into the buds).... :( I harvested early to save from loosing yeild. Wish me luck as this is my 1st semi-sucsessful grow. But on the good side I like the heady high more. I will post pics as soon as I get a Digi-scale

Bagseed exactly 7 weeks flowering after 2 weeks from seed, flowered at 4.5" FF ocean forest with FF nutes CFL grow

i am kind of confused. when you flush you dont want the any nutes to uptake. right?
i dont even PH my water when i flush. the plant will take on the water regardless. ie flush.

GrowTec, what do u mean by "harvey swirly"? (harvest early?)then yeah :( but we judged that if I waited I would loose more than gain. and as far as wet weight I need to get a digi-scale but I wasn't ready to buy a scale yet so hopefully tomorrow (payday) I can get a scale and I will post weight and pic's then.

I'm thinking it "might" be around and OZ giving the 1/3 weight loss (I was told would probably happen) while drying.

yelodrvr, I just did my 1st flush but only 1.5 water amount due to lack of distilled water but I was gonna loose more yeild before that :( but it was all organic and I will tuff it through a fert. bud before I loose my buds (unfortunatly)

you chopped early to keep from losing yield? What logic did you follow man?

The plant would have used up it's own stuff, you would have gained yield..

EyezofSnake, the plant was going south on me and I didn't want to risk loosing anything (and it was looking bad) so I made a dicision to harvest pre-ready. Better now then bad.

Wet weight with the stems to hang from 73g, wanted to post pics but cant right now. maybe tonight.

Anyone know a rough estimate of how much weight is lost during drying?
and I dunno how much weight is stem the plant was 32"tall at harvest

you'll get about 25 dry grams.

You know the final 2 weeks of the flowering period is supposed to be the flush.....meaning only water during this period. Using only water for the last 2 weeks makes the plant use up nutes that are stored in the plants cells. So the color changes you were witnessing were completely normal, shoulda let her go the 2 weeks because she was going to gain weight.

If you grow a strain that has an 8 week flowering period you always start a flush at week 6 or 7 and then let her go till a total of 8-9 weeks have passed.

For your next grow take her to the end of her life cycle, let her tell you when she is done.

Thanks for the info, unfortunatly it was bagseed and I was flying blind. I have had several problems with nutes and some bug issues so when all I had was bud and "0" leaves and the tiny leaves in the bud started dying I didn't want to risk it.

I wish I was able to flush but I got paranoid and maybe jumped the gun but this 1st one was a great learning experience.

i did the same thing man. room had a light leak. it hermied on me. i panicked and chopped the thing thinking it would pollinate the other plants. stupid mistake. the yield was great. the quality not so great.

last grow i was working out of town alot. came home to find them locked up and drying out bad. this is about 3 week from harvest. so i flushed and hoped for the best. left town with nice plump buds came home to dried up little bitty buds. smoke was great. yeild was half of previous grow.

like you said learning experience.
