Hairs turning amber, trich's still clear

I am using a 30x magnifier. The trich's are still clear. Why would this be? The bud has recently stopped growing and hairs turning amber brown. The temp has gotten down to 40 with my heater in on them at night. Temps outside have been 15 degrees. Would 40-50 degree temps slow them down? I enclosed an area with plastic to help keep the heat in from the open cold attic. Anyone have any ideas?

40 is a bit low, and could very well be slowing your plant down. Try to keep it at least above 50.

Where are you checking the trichomes on your plant? Try checking in different spots and see how the color compares.

What percentage of pistils (hairs) would you estimate have turned orange? Are you noticing any new white pistils or calyxes?
