hows it goin?

a FRIEND has 2 plants. one is very nice with medium size buds while the other is in the stage of just starting to bud. the problem is both seem to have stopped growing. they havent changed in a couple weeks. he keeps the light cycle close to 12/12 but its never exact and sometimes give or take a couple hours. what could be going on?

on thing i must say is there is little ventilation, its in a small closet. could that be stunting their growth or are there other reasons? they look healthy but they just arent growing anymore. what effect would pruning some leaves have?

personally I would think it is lighting. your "friend" has not had any problems yet to this point but all of a sudden they stopped growing. I bet your friend is using cfl's or somethiing to that equivilent. I would say you need more light to produce more bud!if anything go out and get a 6 pack of those little 13watt cfl's at lowes for like $10 USD. next stop at walmart and pick up 6 light fixtures and 6 plug in cords. put them together and there you go. if this does not apply to you, I hope someone got good use out of it. lol

Yes it is defiantly a lighting issue! I have experimented with varying light cycles and what I have found is:

11/13 will slow growth down considerable
10/14 will slow growth down even more
9/15 growth is stunted Hermie's are more likely to appear
8/16 two weeks and just ever so slightly any new growth
7/17 no new growth
6/18 plants begin to yellow preparing to die

Now I have also experimented with running lights on different schedules as well. This is changing the time lights come on and go off from day to day. I discovered that Hermie's are more likely and growth is very slow to non-existent. What I did was say Monday I would turn them on at 9AM to 9PM Tuesday 10AM 9PM Wednesday 9AM to 9PM and so on with just a few timing differences I noticed the plants did not grow as well as having a consistent timing (timer) of light cycles. In nature the light cycle slowly decreases at a steady rate and causes the plants to prepair for winter. So your friends plants are perairing for winter and have stopped growing from it. Get a timer and correct the lighting and your plants will finish out.

its quite possible that when the hormones that induce flowering can be killed by not being "exact" get yourself a timer
