Hand feed vs hydro

Hi guys and girls this is my first post here so bare with me a little lol

ive recently just finished a crop of critical kush and only averaged around 2.5oz per plant
I vegged For 3 weeks then topped and begged for 1 week longer (4 in total)
i run a grow tent with 2x600w lights for the first 8 weeks the Add another 400w at the last 4 weeks of flower
4 weeks veg 8 week flower

anyway my general question is if I was to switch to hydroponic over hand feeding once a day would my yield be any better for it?

I still plan on checking Daily as I find it quite relaxing and Ive found a bigger yield off of topping so plan on using the same method as well as some low stress techniques

any help appreciated
kind regards
luke

Im using 2 x 600w HID for weeks 1 to 8 then adding an extra 400w HID for weeks 8 to 12
I do a 18/6 for 4 weeks (veg) then a 12/12 for the next 7 weeks then the last week I do a 10/14

im feeding daily until 10%run off with a ph between 5.8 and 6.5
I use a mix of bat Ghana and advanced nutrients throughout

I’m just wondering if a constant feed supply would produce a better yield?
I’m getting some lovely fat buds that are sticky as hell just wanted to up the weight a little more
Maybe a longer veg?

That really depends upon what hand feed means.

e.g. Drain to waste in coco/perlite is handfed hydro. Thus i am confused.

Is that 4 weeks veg from seed breaking the soil or from once the plant has real leaves?

I prefer to top plants sooner, and then give them the extra time after to veg up the new branches larger. If they are real bushy, you can use LST to spread the back out for better light penetration.

I'm also with dark web here, you are trying to flower them to fast. Many strains from seed need 5-7 weeks to become mature. Are your plants showing preflowers BEFORE you flip them to 12/12? Once you switch the lights how long is it taking for them to start actually forming flowers? Plants all go through a transition phase from veg - flower. If they are not mature it can take much longer 2-3 weeks. If you are only flowering for 8 weeks, and the first 2 of that is transition then you are really only letting them flower for 6 weeks. It seems like that strain is ESTIMATED to be 55-60 days, but its VERY common that plants take longer because you grow environment is not the same as the breeders.

Do you have any pictures of the plants RIGHT when you harvested them? Were they still covered in white stigma? Chopping early is one of the biggest mistakes that growers make. If you don't wait till the plant is properly done, then you miss out on the swell at the end, and you miss out on 20%ish of your yield.

How big was the tent? How high did your temperatures get in there?

How many plants did you have in there? Like how many were under 600 watt light? 2.5 oz per plants isn't great if you had 6 plants. But if you had 18 plants, that's a pretty nice grow.

I do 4 weeks veg from a seedling so having a few leaves before putting under the HID lights so they’re already around 2 weeks old before vegging

they start to show flowers within the first week and I use switch spray to stop any Hermies which helps kick flowers in (or so I’ve found)
I’ve order some more of the same strain so will try a little longer
I only chop when I see around 30% amber trichomes I still have other to harvest so I’ll send take some pictures shortly

It’s a 2m x 2m x 4m estimated
I had 23 under the 2 x 600w lights then add an extra 400w so 1600w total
I’ll upload some pictures shortly

Switch spray? (link please?)

I do a hand feed once a day with nutrient water until 10% runs out of the pots then I let it run for 30 mins and catch all the waste and ph test that also

Testing the pH and TDS of runoff can mislead.

I haven’t seen your feed type/strength (unless these Snow Temples are using me as a Zamboni) ...

Aye I just like to check that it’s still in range so the cocoa doesn’t seem to be lacking

I use vitalink for the veg and initial bloom phase then add on big bud and b52 with overdrive (as suggested) during the last few weeks alongside my vita link
I also use a bit of bat Ghana when transplanting to help

Does it need water every day. Really interested in the lights. What kind of HID is it?
I’m not sure on the HID type :s
I feed TIL 10% run off daily once the plants need it (once they’re a decent size) until then it’s once every 2 days but I keep an eye on the top of the soil

Bat guano plus coco? The issue I see there is that bat guano works best with a diverse living soil. Coco might not match so well.
