I went with Tjernlund and I recommend their products over Harbor Freight products. I own MANY tools from my trade and while Harbor Freight is good for certain things, I would never put dependence on anything important that is mechanical or digital in nature from them. In other words, if you need a saw, buy a DeWalt (or some such) not the cheapie Chinese knockoff. If however you need a saw that you will only use 5-10 times in 5 years then you can probably get by with their stuff. But the fan is kind of important. What if it dies at a bad time or worse? Edit: I also notice a 3 month warranty on the item you posted which seems kind of short to me (isn't 1 year standard on these things or ever 2-3). I know you will be asked to purchase the extended one but by that time you could have gotten something with a longer warranty that has a better rep for the same price or thereabouts.

Hey guys thanks for the reply, I agree with most of you, harbor freight has some items that are a steal, but others are priced at a normal price but usually cheaply made. Now as for the fan, I'm wondering how exactly they can get 1000+ CFM out of a 8" fan. See I'm looking to use it as an intake, my room is way hotter than it is outside or in my attic. I was planning on taking some kind of fan to take in cool fresh air. I have a 4" ventech fan from amazon, I use this on my flowering tent combined with a carbon filter, and I haven't had any problems, and I think I paid -$60 for it.

awww, harbor freight isnt that bad. Sure its all chinese shit but its cheap. I have that ventilator. I dont use it for a grow but it puts out shitloads of air. its loud but honestly not much worse that any of my inline 8 or 14 inch fans.

Ive used it on construction sites for years. going strong. i used it to suck concrete dust for most of that time.

I also have a ton of HF air tools. They work fine and for the price i can shitcan it if it goes bad vs snapon. I could buy 10 HF tools or one snapon.

Now some tools like sockets and anything hydraulic like jacks that makes a difference. but a lot of tools I dont really care about lifetime support.

busting my knuckle when a shit socket breaks really sucks, a jack falling on me really sucks. A fan crapping out, who cares.

Bro, I've bought so much crap from that place only to have it fail in a few months.... my take on Harbor Freight: I buy from themfor specialty tools that I only use occasionally....stuff for everyday/continual duty? well not so much....

lol I got it, I already ordered a new 6" inline fan. Way less CFM though.

harbor freight tools are the use once and throw it away.. for most things..but the submersible pumps are pretty good.. most air tools work ok and the hand tools are just to use and trash.. i have a welder from them and used it twice and it stopped working just as the warranty went out. so if you need it in a pinch then buy it but if its not critical the buy the proper product for the job..

good idea man. honestly I made that mistake wen I first setup my new grow.. I had a fan stop working so I went and bought a cheap one with way more CFM. an I set it up.. an I could hear it from 3 houses away.. just like a fuckni airplane .. was ridiculous.

...and they blame Americans for all the pollution. BS. it's the Chinese causing the pollution, we are just the one of several owners of the item or its components who gets to throw it away, and that's what people see, so that's who they blame.
