And here's another example of one that I had starting to crash on me. I got a fresh Apera 533 POM soil spear in today, and found this one at 5.6 PH, and noticed the new growth was really weak. I flushed it with 9 PH with about 8 gallons of mix. You can see that she settled at upper 6's nicely. I don't know why this particular one did that, but no soil is consistent from one bag to the other, so there's that. I try to bring my soil probe with me when I buy, and stab at the ones I want, and reject the others. I did have to special order this round, so I didn't have that option this time.

@Kushash I get those in the package, but we use the traps also as a feed schedule for the day. I’ll go through all 90 and check to see which ones need feeding, then I’ll lay the trap down on the tray.. feed, record, and then set the traps back up. I think you can catch more adult FG if you lay them flat across the top of the soil, but that’s just me. Between the traps and some BTI in the mix tank, we eventually get rid of them in a few weeks.

I have a question kinda off topic but has to do with soil so I tried using FF Happy frog to start a mother plant I do believe my PH did drop to like 4-5 I tried to take your advise and spike it to 8.5 I believe is what I fed and then after it dried I went back to normal 6.8ph .... So after all this I realized I just don't like soil I want to repot in a 5gal and currently it's in a 3gal with happy frog but I'm seriously thinking now just get it in a Pro mix now my question am I going to have have more issues doing this than what I'm actually solving ? My point to this is I don't like how long it takes to correct any issues if I mixed it with pro mix should I try break up as much of the soil out of the roots as I can before doing it or you think it will be fine ? If I'm going with coco again I'll pretreat it with those two before transplanting.

Even if we don't have FG's, we still set a trap on every plant. It's a good early warning signal so you can catch a problem before it gets out of control.
