Nobody likes the Vipars, but I have seen pics of killer grows...If you go with Vipar get 2 300's then you can move them around a bit and you will always have kick ass veg lights. Nothing vegges like blurple.

It is true though...you could get a 2 cob vero 29 v7 for about the same price ($259) from Timber Grow Lights.. That would fill a 2x3 no problem with about 700 ppfd (Don't quote me on that)... Just disconnect the dimmer to get the full blast of light at 210 watts..... Get the 3500 k though. I have the 3000... Not enough blue for my liking. (Running these at 100 watts does create some heat though)

Here is what I did.. I connected my crappy 75w Apollo blurple to my 2 vero cobs... It's now a pretty sweet light.

Heck, I don't see the 300 on Amazon anymore... Get the 900 I guess... but still.. spend the extra 100 on a cob.. I don't think you will regret it.

Here's 2 Vero29c chips in roughly a 1.5 sq ft area. 3500k spectrum. Mystery bean- indica growth, sativa high... and bloom times.

Don't know what I'm going to get from this as of yet. This is the first run with this cabinet and light. But, I thought I'd show it off. Give you an idea of things.

After a lot of reading, COBs are the way forward when it comes to LED.
I currently have a Meizhi 600w (270w actual) it's basically a viparspecta with a different name. But much cheaper and performance so far is great.
Not sure what country you're in but check out these Meizhi on eBay. 300w models for £50! If you're gonna go with a cheaper light I'd recommend these.

Also. If my image looks really dark. Its because my phone's sensor is absolute rubbish. I have to adjust the dimmer just above stable output for this thing to be able to see anything outside the lit area. Otherwise you're looking at a great big lit bush. And nothing but black outside that lit space.

Viparspectra 600.

alright already...I'll bite.
Ima die hard hps/mh 1000 watt tried and true grower. every time I tried an alternative I was left wanting.
never tried these cobs, am watching though. can you link me to a complete ready to use system
(220v is a +) that would more than replace my expectations of one 1k hps in flower only?

thanks so much

You need about 625W of top quality LEDs to equal a NEW 1000W bulb.
The meanwell controllers can take a range of input AC voltages, as well as battery or DC input on some models.

It's hard to beat a 1000 w hps for density, penetration etc,,, But you would save on electricity and cooling with COBS.. 6 veros @ 100 watts or 12 cree cxb... Check out Northern Grow lights or check in with @CobKits on here.. He knows pretty much everything and can provide cost effective solutions..

Thumbs up
