A scope on the trichs is always your best indicator. When you got mostly cloudy with 10% or so an amber color your right in the sweet spot.
Well....thats how I prefer mine anyway.
I learned over time that just eying them up can be very unreliable. I once had a Sativa ( Sugarpunch) that looked like it was all but a dead plant but it took that long to develop. It happens.

the trichs are all pretty much cloudy, a few amber.

Here's the next one! Ready? It's hard for me to tell, because about a week and a half ago, I had a power outage for about 4 days.. I think that is why it looks like the buds are growing taller.. What do you guys think?
