Harvest before too high THC

The more amber it is the more of a couch lock or sleep enabling high it will provide (because more THC has been converted to THCa .

Maybe do some research (read: smoke) strains to find one of the ones that gives less anxiety, anxiety is a serious problem I encounter too, so I just try and seek out strains that are known for producing less of it (generally speaking for myself anyways i like pure indicas for the couch high or whatever, too much anxiety as it is I dont need more of a head stone lol).
The plant produces acid forms of the cannabinoids which are not psychoactive and must be converted onto psychoactive forms. Converting THCA into THC is what happens during decarbing when you're making edibles, or combustion when smoking.
When the trichomes have turned amber the THCA has degraded to CBN which is only mildly psychoactive, and is heavily narcotic (makes you sleep).

Yeah my bad I meant CBN but got stuff confused in my head. I still stand by claim that the longer you grow the more sleepier the weed youll get

Letting your weed go amber doesn't make it any more relaxing or give it any more body high.
Why not tell the man to NEVER give it Nutrients... I can't believe you said that..lol
I used this as a guide in the past, maybe it'll help you.
After VIEWING this guide alone You shouldn't have told this man that it Doesn't make it anymore relaxing..lol... THIS IS SCIENCE Not guess work..

But
Good luck...

Please follow the advice of Those who are directing you to either a strain or following the Amber % to harvest...As you See..the majority Agree

Actually, yeah. The strain advice is good too. You don't want a strain high in THCV as that seems to be a stimulant. It is kind of random sometimes how much THCV is in some strains. I saw some test results a guy got back from the Grand Daddy Purple he was growing and two of them had fairly significant levels, and three others had almost none.

Exaaaactly...THC and CBD are the Main Properties of the Cannabinoids... As Ibuprofen is the Stimulant to Muscle Relaxers (Bonified Boost/Knockout/Muscle Relaxing) By itself you don't get the full effects. Vice-versa CBD to THC need either or for full effects and increased effects come with the smaller properties THCV, and others. They all boost the effects of CBD ie. THC to different capacities. And excuse my analogies and reference if it's muddled. It may come out wrong, but my understanding is like Naruto/ it's broken down that way LOL.

It's complex and then again it isn't...
Like me..I'll rather pay someone to develop my grow system, Versus pull my hair out in configuring and installation.

Which in turns goes in hand with this...Find the Strain that goes hand in hand with your personal desires.

I have a good means of viewing the trichomes clearly so I’m going to push it as late as I can. But is there a point where I may loose anything by REALLY WAITING till 90%+ amber?

I have problems with anxiety but I see no relationship between THC level and anxiety, or CBD, or Indica/Sativa. There is a lot we don't understand about the terpenes in herb. I've had high THC sativas that were the most anti-anxiety, happiness inducing herb I've ever had, and janky hybrid mids that totally tweaked me out. What I did, and what I recommend others do, is figure out what kind of weed you enjoy in general-for me it's landrace sativa, followed my any interesting sativa phenos-then search through user reports for ones that come up with consistently anti-anxiety reviews. As for indicas, I find a lot of strains that have blueberry ancestry and those terpenes, are very mellow. Good blue dream is hard to find these days because every 2-bit breeder made their version to cash in on the seed gold rush and the strain has gone down the drain unless you can find a good cut. A lot of the strawberry flavors are good too. One of the most anti-anxiety strains I've had was an awesome cut I had of greenhouse Hawaiian Snow I had from 2005-2010 when my mommies all died while I was on vacation. I'm actually going to grow out some of those seeds again just to see how much has changed in the strain over the past 15 years-have they maintained the character of the strain, or let the genetics deteriorate? Good luck with your search! When you find the perfect cut, SAVE IT!!

I've been experimenting with so many strains over these past 13 years and I can't believe people still think CBN does anything but lowers potency and turns the high shitty. A great strain that goes too amber will just have less effect, it won't magically turn into a couch locky strain or put you to sleep. Some strains knock me out, doesn't take amber trichomes to do that. Try it, let a strain go full amber and see how shit it is.

I just dipped into the flower I cut down early to make room. It's been jarred for roughly a month and I almost forgot about it.

It's definitely not the best bud I've ever smoked, but I've paid top shelf prices from the dispensary and gotten worse weed, no doubt. It is not particularly potent, but I don't think your best bet would be to try and chop down early. As others have said, find the strain that works for you and grow it.

Now You're changing your statement to GOING FULL AMBER verses Going Amber doesn't matter..lol

BIG difference

Cool...As long as you're coming around finally..lol

Harvest sooner than later because the later you harvest the more "narcotic" of effects you'll have and usually that leads to feeling the sensation of not being able to breathe properly and or "couch lock" where you feel like you don't wanna go anywhere. For some people including myself this can be a really sh*t feeling.

I’m same anxiety there’s certain strains that literally have sent me into psychosis grew shiva once never again - all my mates loved it shits fucking crazy So a lot is down to strain I personal like making edibles with low strength coco oil find it a lot calmer buzz Hope you do find something that can help you ☮
Brooo I smoked Super Silver Haze and it had me debilitated with anxiety. I don't screw with Sativa Dominant strains ever anymore if I can help it..

@Gregzky you could look into Blue Dream or Gelato 33 they are 2 strains that seem to be super mellow for me and not cause any racey/anxious thoughts or feelings. Different strains for different brains though some people are going to have different effects.. Blue Dream is one that I have always heard come up and I know for my patients with anxiety they prefer the Gelato 33 as right now I don't have any Blue Dream in rotation.

While I hate the feeling I get from weed that's higher in CBN, I have grown clones and harvested at different times to determine what point to harvest at to get the best results. Not just the same strain, clones taken from the same mother. The only difference was how much amber there was at harvest. The weed with the most amber knocked me right out, and induced the worst couchlock I have ever experienced.

There is also actual research into the effects of CBN, which you could find with minimal effort.

The worst strain for me when it comes to paranoia and anxiety was Cold Creek Kush. I could almost see transparent aliens rushing at me. I had to keep my back to the wall for an hour. Pineapple Express #2 gives me a creepy feeling every time. Both are indica dominant.
The best strain was Blueberry Kush, but I haven't had a problem with sativa strains and paranoia since I smoked in high school.
Every strain effects each person differently.
