And my adult son just put a popcorn bud in his bong.. He said it wasn't harsh at all and hit him right away, said it's good and ready.

Awesome C.C. - that's what I call a second opinion. :D

If it's not harsh with a good vibe right off the vine ... you will love that shit fully dried and cured.
