yeah, i'm having a hard time deciding when.. but i'm 90% sure the herer should be ready.. i'm barely over 7 weeks in flower but trichomes don't lie...My first is coming soon in a week or two
Jars don't breath .How come you a paper bag instead of a jar? Just curious
Well yea. But i read somewhere... put in jars. Make sure to burp the jars daily. For the first few days take bud out of jars for 2-3 mins than put back in jars. After that just open the jars daily for a couple mins or less until readyJars don't breath .
I just finished week 8 on my 4 girls. Still waiting. Checking tric’s every other dayyeah, i'm having a hard time deciding when.. but i'm 90% sure the herer should be ready.. i'm barely over 7 weeks in flower but trichomes don't lie...
I would assume it is just his method that he uses. Many people use jars and many people use paper bags a lot of people have used Ziploc bags and been successful. I personally like the paper bag method as well, the paper bag helps to pull the moisture from the interior of the bud to the exterior, and since its paper, it still let's the bud breath a little and at the same time hold the moisture and help keep the outsides of the Bud from getting too crispy allowing for a more even cure throughout the bud. but again everybody has their own special ways this is just the reasons why I use paper bags myself. How come you a paper bag instead of a jar? Yes, let it dry before trimming, it dries slower and the slower you dry, the better it will be. 10-12 days drying is perfect, 2-4 days is too fast, 5-7 ok, 10-12 is what I aim for.Does it make a difference if you trim before it dries or after?
They really do.but trichomes don't lie...
Well.. my herer's hairs are all red and curled back now.. and a bit more amber trichomes that i think i wanted.. so i think it's ready, the Durban still has a bit of white pistils, but getting some amber tri's so.. not sure on it yet. They really do.
They are a secondary indicator to the harvest window, but its a window that should be looked through when the plants give primary indicators they are close. The stigmas retracting and the bracts swelling should come before you look at trichomes.
I use large dark jars but I burp them regularly.Jars don't breath .
You've also read somewhere that paper bags can be used. But i read somewhere...

What’s your primary indicator? They really do.

I've tried the jar method, its a bunch of fooling around. The paper bag method works wonders, and is very simple, no hassle fiddling with jars every day. When you take them out of the bag and trim them up they should be perfectly ready to smoke. Then put them in jars for long term storage/cureing.Well yea. But i read somewhere... put in jars. Once they’ve retracted. Do you still check the trichomes and if you do. Would have 25, 50 or 75% amber trichomes. Just curiousWhat’s your primary indicator?
A grower I respect a lot suggested it. It’s pretty fool proof, which is good for me. I think that the bag allows the moisture to slowly equalize in the bud and between buds so the whole lot cures down nice and slow. And like thunder at said trimming is way nicer. And of course they are ready to smoke at trim time, so there’s that. And then once they are in the jars I don’t have to mess with them. How come you a paper bag instead of a jar? Just curious
It’s a lot of work. IMO. The bag achieves the same result and is way easier.Well yea. But i read somewhere... put in jars. Make sure to burp the jars daily.
