Harvest Time: A Tutorial

I've read and learned a lot here. I'm a newbie to the grow game. Just tired of paying big $. for something at one time grew wild and free. The part I'm a bit saddened by are the snarky comments of folks that, although knowledgeable, come off as pompous Aholes. I was a wine distributer for years and know more about wine than any one person should. When I'd run into the know it all's that belittled a person wanting to learn, I'd write them off as rude and not worth my time. Doesn't matter if you've been here a wk or 8 yrs be nice. Some here need a mouthwash and some here are absolutely great. You know who you are. I'm a newbie on my first grow. Please be patient with us. We just want to learn.
yeah, that happens. ignore those people, and listen to the others...it would be great if we could find a troll free spot to gather, but such does not exist anymore, and some people just never learn to get along with others without showing their ass whole doing it.
that said, stick with it, be selective about the advice you take, and don't believe anything without verification...

My humidity has been consistently low in my grow tent....40 % ish. I put a small humidifier in there and it barely effects the humidity. Which is wild, since it's a 6L humidfier and I was worried it would raise the level TOO much in a 4X4 tent, and I sure don't understand why? It's 72 degrees in there, 2 small circulating fans and a 6 in exhaust fan running 24/7.
I'm soon to harvest, plan to dry in the same tent...but all the humidity numbers I see want it a lot higher than I've been able to get it! Thoughts?

Well i don't even remember when exactly I planted it. :bigjoint:
Just a few trichomes on the sugar leaves turned amber already. At least from what i can tell with macro lense of my smartphone.
But I learned from this forum to not look at the trichomes that much, as not all plants have trichomes that go amber at all.
I do want a indica high but at the same time it shouldn't make me sleepy. Still waiting for my microscope and jewelery loupe from china.

Top leaves are yellowing hard and i have autum colors already (temp is 20C° since the last 2-3 weeks).
Also calyxes are swollen, or will they swell more? Flushing since some days now (last watering was only plain maybe 3-4 days ago)
Do i need to have runoff water when i flush btw?

if someone could make a poll, cause i always get mixed reactions on this, but is it normal to get that hay/grassy smell on day 3 of drying?
i heard alot of people say it should never smell like that, and should stay smelling like dank the whole drying process.

would like to get you guys to reply on it

Does anyone else use a hand held wireless microscope to determine harvest time? I started using one several years ago and I'll never go back to not using one. It takes a lot of the guess work out of things. The only negative is that I have to touch the plant buds with the microscope. So it causes some minor damage to the trichomes.

I bought it years ago but if I remember correctly. The microscope I use is adjustable from 50x to 1000x. And I usually have the zoom adjustment somewhere near the middle. You also need a compatible phone when using the microscope. The microscopes I bought was inexpensive. Somewhere around 30 dollars (4 years ago).

Here are some images I recently got from the microscope.
