Harvest time via calyxes?

Every variable should be taken into account.
Swelling of calyxes.
Receding pistils.
Trichomes.
And the overall look of the entire plant (or at least branch sections).
I value calyxes and trichomes most though, but calyxes are often very reliant on the particular strain where as the state of trichomes at harvest is something you can decide for yourself.
Calyxes obviously for weight.
Trichomes for the potency.

Swollen calyxes are always a general sign of maturity yes.
But you have to take everything into account.
There are 3-4 telltale signs which I mentioned above;
Swelling of calyxes.
Receding pistils.
Trichomes degrading (amber trichomes signal degradation process and loss of potency).
And the overall look of the plant.
Trichomes are obviously extremely important since they determine the potency of your product.
Calyxes are also highly important since they determine the weight and size of the product.
Receding pistils are just a sign, they don't "produce" anything.
Same with the overall look.

The whole thing of % trics amber to decide harvest time is stupid! My strains, the ones I still do almost never go amber to any real degree. Hairs go orange/red and still no amber much. After the normal bloom days of around 58 they are done amber or no amber. U need to learn your strain and well have grown 16 in my time. The best imho and experience don't show ready by the amberness of the trics! Can u not look at the swollen calyxis or however it is spelled, I never paid attention to that spelling. those will tell u when they are ready. Hairs might be 100% red and still trics less than 30% or even lower amber. So learn to see the swell and the time to harvest for your strain is online so look it up and you will be golden.!

Ps. This is not an opinion it is the facts maam. Trust me. The two listed of the top strains in the world I have also grown. And the best never really ambered. Not an opinion as I said. I have done that strain over 9 times to harvest and never tried to look at the trics after realizing that every strain is not every strain. Get it?!!!!

Well I usually look at the whole bud(flower) for harvest. When I see pistils turning color from white, I would look at trichomes. If my trichomes aren't mostly milky/ cloudy, I would wait. Usually during this ripening my calyxes swell normally. The pistils are just an indicator for me to look at trichomes. I careless if all my pistils are brown, pink, red, amber, when I harvest because when drying they all will become dry and change color .I've always checked when to harvest by my trichomes, but some people suggest the condition of calyxes is a better way to tell.
What's everyones opinion on this? And how would one tell if the plant is ready via calyxes?
