Harvest day has come, any preference on wet or dry trimming.
Any special techniques you've used that could possibly be helpful are welcomed

im sure youll get a mixed bag of replies, its all a matter of opinion. i like to get rid of most of the bigger fan and some sugar leaves while its wet, because youll never get 100% of every small leaf, whatever is left will shrivel as it dries. I do a once over on all nugs as i strip them from the branches before i jar em up.

Special techniques? Not really. Patience and a close eye. Theres n shortcuts for work, i despise trimming machines, I never have a trimming session without all of the following:
a loaded bowl
favorite drink
a table full of aluminum foil/newspaper,
fiskars micro tip scissors or something similar(spring loaded),
something on in the background (podcast, movie, music)

I remove all fan leaves, and any smaller leaves that aren't totally covered in trichomes, and then hang dry for 7-14 days depending on the time of year my drying environment wasn't always stable and I just had to keep an eye on them. When the buds are just a little crispy on the outside surface and the stems crack when bent I remove them from the stems and put the buds into a paper bag to allow the moisture inside to balance out, I usually check them daily and give them a little shake to stir them up. This usually takes another 4-7 days and you know its ready when it breaks up and smokes nicely. Once its smokes nice, do a final cleanup trim and jar it for storage, no burping or anything else needed.

Thank you for both of those responses. This it's my first time harvesting I'll post some pics later while me and my wife are trimming, going to try and harvest all 6 plants tonight after my kid goes to bed

Thank you. Ilk be happy if I get 2oz per plant. I want 3 per to give me a pound but I won't really be disappointed with whatever I get.

In all reality I won't be disappointed with whatever I end up with. This was a learning experience next time I'll be training plants and focusing on growing a better product with higher yields

Thats a good way to think. Watch youtube videos, pickup some grow books on ebay, Never stop learning. Theres a guy on youtube called Canucksgrow thats got some good vids on the whole process with a few being solely about drying/curing

Yeah iv been watching videos and reading just about everything I could find.
This was a spur of the moment grow, acquired everything including plants already in veg so i didn't have time to prepare it how I wanted to, but still happy with the way it turned out for my first grow

That bud looks good, a little concerned from the apparent yield though on (2) 600w hps. How full was the tent? Also agree that drying with the stem on will draw moisture slower and give you larger margin for success. You should be happy though they look good and frosty. More light isn't always better unless you are maximizing its distribution properly. Learning how to properly train the canopy was the #1 increase in yield for me. Congrats on the harvest.

Yeah i was wondering what was up. I'm running 1x600w and i am hoping for more but meh i'd be happy with anything over a few zips.

yeah I usually manage about 20oz with the two 315w cmhs. Thats only about .88g per watt. It can be anywhere from 16-20+ oz depending on the strain.

I ended up with about 8-9oz from 6 plants.
Im going with the 1000w hps light for flower on this next crop, as well as netting to train, I'll be vegging with a 400w mh. Totally overhauling my tent, will be picking up new clones in about a week.
Im really hoping to up my yield this next time around.
This last harvest was a real learning experience. I was happy how my bud turned out was just hoping for more, but oh well, next time will be better
