Ok so has anyone ever chopped their plants then put some buds in the fridge over night and then by morning they were purple? Supposedly it works.

HAHAHA no dude thats just a stupid legend we got here up in NorCal. well i dont live in california anymore but i lived there last year. that wont do anything but make your trichomes stiff. that whole freezing method is used to make the crystals stuff so it (the trimmings or buds) can be made into hash easier. if you want to get purple buds, the real way to do is to introduce lower temps in the last 4 weeks of growing but only during the dark period. about 50% of plants have a phenotype that will turn purple. but if you buy a purple strain you have a 50% chance of it turning purple because purple strains usually only have 2 phenotypes. just get like 5 feminized purple haze from the attitude and do the low temps things and you'll have at least 2 purple plants

I understand how to get genuine purple bud from the way you grow it thanks. But I was just referring to bud appeal. I guess it probably isnt true, i thought it would be kind of cool if it was tho.

I don't think there is any way to increase bag appeal except possibly grow it right. After that generally what people do is harm the bag appeal by trying to increase it. Or hurry it up etc etc etc.

i have done this. it seems to me that buds put in the fridge for a day or two before being hung up retain a slightly lighter green color. other than that it dosen't really seem to do anything.

they do it to white roses,thats how they get blues and other colors,if it works for other flowers it might work for cannabis

Different plants are different. For the food coloring to work on marijuana it would have to be in a 1:1 or 1:2 part mix with water. The setm the bud is on would have to be put into the mixturedirectly after cutting it from the tree. It also affects the quality ot of the smoke. Usually bag appeal is worth more though. Stupid people and such.
Also putting a freshly cut bud's stem in water and keepign the temp around 60 degrees will purple a plant as well. Just not nearly as much and you risk losing lots of trichs when you handle it.

What it tastes like normally and what it tastes like smoked are very different. My weed tastes great as it is. If you are really looking for a way to improve the flavor and quality then you should be refining your process not trying to figure out a quick fix.

Why would you go through the problem of ADDING PIGMENT to the plant. The point of flushing is to remove as much of the pigment as well as other shit out of the leaves and buds by starving it.
Pigment doesn't taste good. Infact it tastes like shit. grow better or go home.
