Harvesting at week 5

So unfortunately I have an extreme fungus gnat problem in my soil along with the beginning of a spider mite infestation therefore I've decided to harvest my seedsman seeds white widow plant that has been in flowering for 5 weeks. Im afraid the mites will make their way to the buds as they have already started on the sugar leaves so to avoid having buds with bugs in them, the plant will be cut down in about 5 days so that I can flush it out a little bit. The buds are very resinous (sorry the pic quality is poor, you cant really tell) and moderately dense but not necessarily voluminous (what can you expect for only 5 weeks flower).

So my question is this: has anyone harvested as early as 5 weeks flowering and if so, what was the potency, bud consistency, weight, etc. like?

Oh and the breeders pack says 8 weeks flowering so im about 3 weeks early to be harvesting by the breeders standards.

If you D.E for your gnats and pepper spray your mites to death you might as well let her finish flowering the "damage" is already done...just a thought.:)good luck.peace

get some mighty wash for the spider mites, and put perlite on the top of the soil to get rid of the gnats. Then let them finish for the last 3 weeks. 5 weeks of flowering is just way to early, 7 weeks is the very least that i would ever let it go for if u still want to get some good bud that provides a good buzz.

The gnat problem is SEVERE never again will i buy unsterilized soil. Ive tried everything from Hydrogen Peroxide regularly to drying out the soil. I havent considered perlite though thank you, I was considering using a wash on the leaves for the mites so I might take your advice and finish it out all the way it that helps

Thanks!

Oh im still interested too though if anyone has had experience with bud harvested this early. I once harvested a bagseed plant that was grown 12/12 from seed about 2 weeks early and it was quite potent but very airy buds and almost no weight

Cheers!

let the plant finish.

mighty wash the mites and put a piece of mosquito dunk in your water. let the dunk sit a day before watering with it. do this for 2 weeks every time you water.

watering from below will dry the top area a little and help with the gnats.
