Harvesting early

hey every1

I just wanted to know how bad it would be to harvest a week or so early.

frost is coming quick, and I know my buds arent fully ready.

The trichomes are partially milky to clear, but there are not many standing up and the flower itself is not very dense/developed.

altogether, the little buds would add up, but I'm wondering if they would even be worth smoking.

P.S. the plants are 7 weeks into flowering outdoors. I have been flushing for 3 days now.

My dad has grown outside for many years and will not harvest until after the first frost and never lost a plant because of it. If you want you could just cover with a trash bag or sheet if you know a frost is imminent.
To answer you question a week or so early the bud will be a little less potent and a little less weight but the effect wont be enormous

Now that i Look at them they look like 2-3 weeks early in which case Id let them go another 7-10 days minimum, you got alot of bud weight to gain yet...

i was planning a partial harvest tomarrow in case my shit gets stolen while im outta town. Then im gunna get the rest in about 1 1/2 weeks. It will probably still be young in 1 1/2 weeks but it should be wayyy more devoloped by then.

It's looking real good. Forget about the callender, just be sure to harvest before you get a hard front. When you smoke it you'll know it was well worth the extra wait :blsmoke:

I clipped a little bit today. Its really fluffy and tastes really chemical. gets me stoned though. How long would be a good time to flush my plant (BTW, its been feed all season with miracle bloom "big mistake")

I'd say let it go for 10 more days. You probably smoked mostly hairs and you think you were stoned but only got a little buzz. That plant couldn't of gotten you stoned.

1 week flush and i'd say keep them as long as you can. like the other guy said, if it frosts, just cover them and harvest thereafter. I'm assuming you can check on them daily after the frost.

i would say u need atleast 2 more weeks those still need to fatten up alot more my friend

try to hold out aslong as u can find somethin to cover them at night to protect them

props to Hogg for having the most (and almost only) relevant info and experience for this situation. and I happen to agree with him. learned the same thing from my old man first hand. don't fear the first frost - as long as you can snatch 'em up quick after.

but everyone who said wait as long as you can is also correct. unless that's ditch weed, the plants in those photos have a lot of development left in them.
