what do you mean darkness before the chop at harvest, i just 12/12 throughout flowering, flush for the final 7 - 10 days before harvesting then chop it down and dry in complete darkness in normal room temperature with slight air movement, then another 7 - 10 days later its done i then leave some aside for myself then the rest goes in jars for while curing, hope this helps you out, merry christmas

117 views and only 1 reply. If noone knows what I mean I will try to explain. Some people cut the lights off for several days right before they chop because it is said that this stresses the plant out and makes more trichs pop out. I was wondering opinions on the best amount of time to keep em off before u chop.

I just give the regular 12 hours, and try to chop close to when the lights first come on.

yeah thats what i have always done, but i keep reading about giving them anywhere from 24hours-1 week of straight darkness

What is the standard amount of time that people give there plants darkness before they chop at harvest?
My harvest expected date is Dec 31st and I have been looking though many sites for " Best " way to make the harvest all it can be..The info I can find says from 24 to 36 hours of darkness before you chop...Since you will be drying it after the chop do not add any more water during darkness and you can save time by a few days in the next following weeks ..If you know anything esle that will help ...Please, send it.....Thanks Rick
