The epsom salt. it says:
USES
* For relief of occasional constipation (irregularity).
* This product generally produces bowel movement in 1/2 to 6 hours.

I was just jokin' around tho.
Lol, sometimes I take things too literal.
Epsom salt is good for many things. Unscented for plants, none of that lavender shit.
Soo..A sativa and a Indica walk into a bar..jk.

i think the use of cal/mag is dependant on the water u use.. r/o or distilled u need cal/mag,, if using good tap water its in there..ive lived in a few different houses and always used tap water, the ppm and ph differ from house to house but all had all the cal/ mag needed for healthy plants.. friends who use r/o or distilled need to add it as they contain zero elements..
Gh maxi series...The powdered stuff?

hey I bet that candy can strip pattern is something with the plastic cord maybe its reacting to the lights or something. It just wipes off?

The white powdery stuff on the light cord in that very first photo you are referring is remnants from the last grow. I wiped it off and it is forming again.

I don't know what it is but yes, it wipes off easily. I think the candy-stripe is caused by the extraction fan/filter located directly above the light? I really don't know.
Only thing I can think of is the extraction fan has been sucking that stuff from the damp-rid things I have been using in there but that stuff is enclosed in a very fine cloth-like material. I have since removed it so will see if it stops forming.
I quite literally put the last grow under a microscope to examine trichomes and saw no signs of it on the buds.

Very nice.
Considering this strain is a 7-9 week strain to finish. Looks like you are close. The larger fan leaves that are 2/3rds yellow or more, I would pull those off at the stem (or gently cut with clippers). They are close to dead and only take away from leaves below that are still green and still processing sugars that are creating larger buds.
You might also want to think about using straight water from here to the end.
Scrog is perfect for flushing as you can literally cut your large base stem (as horizontally as possible), replace your pot of soil with a pitcher of clean water and as water is used, keep filling with straight water (or replace with clean water daily) until plant finishes. Just like a house plant.
Just curious, what is your flushing process?
Beautiful job!

Thanks bro!

I actually think it will take 9-10 weeks to finish. At least that is what I've read and have been basing the feeding schedule on.

Ordinarily, those would have been gone long ago but was in a thread about whether or not to remove those that had me second guessing myself. I got the ones blocking budsites at or above the screen.

You might also want to think about using straight water from here to the end.
Are you sure? If it does in fact take 9-10 weeks as they say, it's too soon. There are people here who can tell by looking at it. Maybe I will try posting one of those "How much longer" threads.

That is just too slick! Gonna study on this, just don't know if i can bring myself to actually do it. :(

As for the feeding/flushing i just try to follow AN's recommendation using that flawless finish stuff with twice the usual amount of water to get the ppm down as low as i can.
AN feeding recommendations (ppm):
Week 1- mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1000 ppm

Week 2 - mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1200 ppm

Week 3- mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1400 ppm

Week 4- mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1600 ppm

Week 5- mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1400 ppm

Week 6- mix nutrient solution including supplements at 1200 ppm

Week 7- Flush (plan to use twice the normal amount of water along with that 'flawless finish' stuff).

I ran the week 4 feeding twice... 2 weeks. ppm's have been close but not quite this high.
*note* those ppms are for the entire week, not each feeding.

IMO Final Finish is just another way to get more of your money. We've touched on nutrient lockout due to over toxicity and/or an imbalance of nutrients.
Products that are designed to flush your plants quickly at the end are simply adding other nutrients that intentionally create imbalances and lockout. This makes all existing nutrients lock up and fall to the bottom. This is not true flushing.
Like saying detergent for washing clothes is odorless, but they add more chemicals to existing chemicals to cover original smells. No Bueno.
Just using water for flushing allows your plant to use up nutrients as it finishes. No reason at all to add any nutrients if you're using Final Finish, it is already locking out your nutrients.

Make sure your trichomes are just starting to cloud. That is when you take her. I have grown this strain a few times and have found 8 weeks was a good target date (58-60 days).

I think admin may frown on those external links to outside info, I was warned about it before. Seems links to products are ok tho, I havent been scolded for those type.

Haven't looked at any yet, this may take some time.
45-50 days huh? it don't look that close to me. it still has pistils sticking out all over it and am hoping those buds fatten up some more.
I have only grown one other strain tho and that og kush ran 87 days!

Removed a handful of leaves. man, she is sticky!

Thanks for posting the links! That is a great resource I was not aware of.

ok, so about 2 more weeks then right? That looks and sounds about right i guess.

I have trouble looking at trichomes because my vision ain't what it used to be. Will post trich photos when it gets a bit closer. its a pain in the ass using a usb microscope connected to my laptop and don't want to fool with it any more than necessary... and there's also the lazy thing.

If I were to do the chop/bucket-o-water flush when would you do that?
crap man, i dont think i would be able to get that container out of there with the plant still in the cabinet... the way that cabinet is made and that is a 10 gallon container.

I am very curious, where are you getting your information for finishing times?
87 days for OG Kush? Holy shit. OG Kush is 58-60 max for flowering time. SFV Kush (which is where OG kush was conceived) is my signature strain, I know it very well.
Also, I know for sure that NL#5 from Nirvana is in the same ballpark as a solid 55-65 day finisher in flower.
I would have started my flush with water a week before harvest (just as you see trichomes clouding).
Do you cure?
Regardless, your NL#5 looks good and I am sure will taste awesome!

well, there are trich photos in the grow thread in sig. the og kush that went 87 days. ILGM said 55 days i think it was.
look at it and trichs. did i let it go too long?

Yes, what happens when it goes too long, the terpenes take on a much heavier couch lock effect due to over formation, rather than the true high intended for the proper maturing time.
If you take it too early, even a good Indica will take on the characteristics of a Sativa dominant strain due to not having completely formed. Many times growers mistake Indica strains for Sativa and vice versa for this reason. It is also why actual flowering times are important to follow for individual strains. Sativa dominant strains always take longer than Indicas.

ok, well i was told i wanted some amber in there, 30% to be exact; and still don't think there is 30% in there. I thought we wanted 'em all cloudy ideally (of course that's not possible) but had been told otherwise. It's great smoke tho and am almost out so the quicker finish time is great news for me. :D

I began stepping down nutes from 80%, then last week 70% and tonight is set for 60%.
Should I give it one more feeding and then start plain water now at 2 weeks out or wait for the one week mark and double up on water?
That flawless finish stuff is said to have "chealets" or something like that, don't have it in front of me, but it supposedly acts like small hooks that grab crap as it passes throughout the plant thus cleaning it out... At least thats what i got when i read the bottle months ago.

*edit* and those reports are correct, she is a heavy feeder. never did really burn the tips even at damn near those recommended ppms (which am sure are high so we use/buy more ferts).

I don't want to steer you wrong, I would start your flush just as you start to see cloudy trichomes (I flush for one week with clean water). By the time you finish and trichomes are fully full cloudy.
The chelates that are in the Flawless finish are specifically made to cause over-toxification of your existing nutrients which then creates nutrient lock out. All nutrients then drop to the bottom (hooks that grab your nutrients, lol). Any more nutrients you add at this point is wasting money. I would only water with clean water from here on out.

I was planning to give it some overdrive this week hoping for fatter buds and flush next week.
I have been giving her a light (half-normal) feeding of plain water prior to a new weeks feeding schedule to help prevent lockout. Thursday she got that, now it's saturday and i would normally begin a new weeks fert feeding tonight with overdrive.
However, if you think it's best to start plain water now i will do as you suggest.
What do you think about one more fert feed tonight?

if you have not already used any products made for flushing than yes.
At this point, any product made for flushing, and using nutrients made to be taken up by your roots are chasing each other's tails in a race to drop to the bottom of your pot, or lock them out of your potting soil. In short, No more nutrients will be taken through roots. These products make adding any nutrients worthless afterward. They are made to take nutrients out.
Using fewer nutrients with each watering toward the end (still balanced) is your best true flush. I flush with just clean water for the last week of flowering.
