Has anybody ever tried using a humidifier in there setups??

Im curious to know because it seems as if it would be an easy way to pump moist fresh air without flushing or flooding seeds or plants. Does it also sound like a dumb idea? Does anybody think it can ruin plants?

Warm moist air isnt necessarily a good thing. How high is your humidity and temps right now?

I'm sure someone has tried it before ... but I would not suggest doing so unless you have very low humidity levels.

Humidity plays a key role in plant resin production. Some very potent equatorial strains grow in high humidity areas but most high-test landraces evolved in drier areas, like Afghanistan. Marijuana flowered in humid conditions normally will have a longer trichome stalk than the same strain grown in drier conditions. The plant will look very crystallized but it will likely contain less THC than the same plant grown in a drier environment. Another problem that goes with that is when you have longer trichome stalks you run the risk of trichome heads breaking off easily when worked around or handled.



High humidity is not a growers friend.

the only things I can see a humidifier being useful for would be to control spidermites during flower, but only if: you couldnt spray them or lower temps. (this only prevents the eggs from hatching).
This has it's negative side effects. Once again Brick Top has already explained these above.
Or during veg if your humidity is, like Brick Top said: " very low.

Im planning to grow Maui so I was reading that the best flowering was during the Hawaiin rain season. Im not exactly sure if this is acurate being as people are always posting fake information online. Have you ever tried to grow this strain? If so do you have more information on the best set up for it?

The are where I plan to place my setup is at around a forth story and winter time. Do you think not placing it in the setup but around the setup area create fresh air because I cant have constant fresh air because of the low temperatures outside. If I leave a window open the area is around 50 degrees, do you think the lights in the setup would alter the temperature around the plants? Im planning to grow Maui and I am not sure what the ideal setup is and its hard to find information online due to the fact every website I visit has different information.

I've seen problems where an AC unit purges too much humidity from the air during the veg cycle. Could be a problem I suppose in warmer areas, but running a humidifier with a hungry window unit would be a moot point. Neem oil/Azamax does "varnish" the leaves to a degree, slowing transpiration. Likely, that results in some trade-off against daily growth. Still, you could try it?

Lights will definitely heat the plants somewhat. Depends on size/distance/ect. You could supplement some CO2 to offset the low air intake.

so the room has no ventilation or anything? adding moisture to your air wont make it fresh air. as long as youve got decent airflow in your house youll be ok probally. the lighting will add heat, how much really depends on the lighting itself and if your grow is in a box or something like that.

A cool mist humidifier blowing in the putrid faces of spidermites drive them fuckin nuts lol.Seriously I often use a cool mist humidifier in veg especially if its dry to keep the spidermites away.Only in veg though obviously.If you have an ongoing problem getting mites in veg,give it a try

im growing in coco soil my humidity is well 2 high(60-80) im 2 weeks into flowering but presume this 2 high?? ive got a mini dehumidifier but doesnt make a dif...... growing in ds100 with 600w ????? any 1 help plzz???
