has anybody tried this?

i had two plants in a three gal. pot, one is def a female sativa dominant, the other seems indica dominant and appears to be male. needed to seperate the two, so as an experiment i put the male in my bubbleponics system w/ 5 seeds that i have germing. i carefully seperated the rootball from the soil and then gently and thoroughly rinsed the roots until clean, and carefully inserted the taproot through a hole in net pot until in solution(ph'd water w/superthrive) and covered w/hydroton and put away from the light. did i do anything wrong? anyone ever went from soil to hydro with success?

no all mine i tried died with in a week take as many clones as u can

soil to aero can lead to clogged misters and plant shock as the nutes are so much more availiable to the plant thewn in soil so it can shock the plant. It can be done but isnt reccomend.Start with the same method your gonna finish with also were you able to use a rockwool cube of some sort to give the roots something to take hold of so the plants have something to stop tipping over?

i have already given all this thought. the clogging i figured would be a problem, but i plan to buy another pump this weekend anyway cause the one that came with the kit isnt that great. when i get the new pump i plan to use some sort of filter bag around it.(read that somewhere on here, believe it was you that uses something like this?) as far as the shock, it is only getting plain water and is not in direct light. no rockwool, i just carefully got as many roots through the net pot as poss. and filled w/hydroton rocks, it stood up well like that. but i just wanted to see if it would work, being a male it is my experiment plant. can someone recomend the best (iyo) rooting solution?

Yeah I use filter bags and an inline filter with 200 mesh screen.I have foound rooting powder for clones much better then clonex rooting gel. The gel dropped my succes rate to about 70% and with powder I have about a 98% success rate for clones.

are all brands about the same or is there a superior product out there? prob. gonna use this plant to learn the clone process
