Has anyone grown and harvested without checking ph levels?

Depending how your water is where you live you can get away with out testing your PH ever. I know for a fact the PH here is around 7.0 almost year round and let the water sit out for 24 hours then add the nutes the PH gets close to how much it should be at.

I struggled with something similar in until I started using lime. My tap ph is well over 7, after I nute 2/3 of a dose "flower nutes" it' goes around 5.8 . I actually considered another line of nutes then fox farms because it was nearly impossible to ph a full nute dose.

i checked out your plants and they look great. where did you get your water from?
I just use tap water. My last grow I was playing with ro water and all that to try and balance the ph. But ended up coming to the conclusion it just wasn't worth the effort for me, so it's just tap water now. I think the ppm level is about 220 out of the tap with a heavy amount of calcium.

JavaMon...actually you are the one thats wrong buddie..... you should do some reading on ORGANIC growing before trying to say I'm wrong.... Understanding the soil food web is vital to organic growing and I suggest you do a little reading in this area before commenting and trying to pass off incorrect information... I own a Hanna PHep digital meter and my feedings are 4PH....at the time there added to the soil... I have not once had any nutrient lockup issues, no leaf discoloration and my soil sits comfortably at 6.7ph....

you should do a little research in Organic growing Java...you will learn a lot about plant mechanics and understand all types of grows better. You would be correct if I was using salt based fertz, but oraganics, you should NEVER PH adjust..

Also If you are using city water, your PPM count probably is at least 200ppm...and using ph adjuster's you are adding another couple hundred PPM to bring your nutrient solution within range....Higher PPM before nutrients = less nutrients available to plants and more unknown variables in your feedings....So I would highly suggest not using city water, and also looking into organics....
So full of misrepresentation to organic mmj growers everywhere.

i would never suggest to NEVER check pH.
do you also just assume the mechanics fixed your car properly? :S
thats like saying you should also never take notes.
THEN, when said person has a problem they're gonna have no clue what the full situation is.

my tap is 200ppm HERE and 350 at my friends place. same city. don't assume.

also, im pretty sure people just tailor their nutes to the ppm of the tap water. IF you test for ppm then you can go from there.

I use a digi pH meter and a dropper. My pH meter and truncheon are everything to my plants.

Im on a real tight budget right now so i bought a 10 dollar ph soil tester. its the shittiest device known to man. it doesnt give anything close to an accurate reading. so i have been just filling a jug with hot water, leaving it out over night and watering the next day to ensure chlorine is gone. my plants look alright for now, they are about a 3-4 weeks old. has anyone successfully harvested crop without ever checking/adjusting ph levels?

i have not checked or adjusted ph in my life... =) never for a plant or myself.. my room grows dank.. i cant see straight right now... my twopennies

I would like to disagree with an earlier post ph is important in hydro not soil. Soil naturally buffers the ph, in hydro you dont have that luxury

I don't ph my water , but I do let it sit 48 hrs with airstone before use
And I've always made it to harvest with no lockouts

Yes, and if u cant afford a meter or pH-test kit for soil or water, the best thing to do is let the chlorine and flouride and crap evaporate from your tap water for 1-5 days before using, and to have a strong peat-based mix with perlite, plenty of greensand, and dolomite lime, and a pinch of epsom salt, which act as pH buffers and help with the trace minerals essential to good plant health, and seem to keep pH levels in check... But, DO try to get some test equipment in the future as finances allow... Until then, happy growing...

If you learn to read your plant all that ph stuff wont be needed

3 different strains never once ph'd
Not one sign of nute lockout

Most new growers can't do this though, so I would suggest a cheap ph kit just incase

I am growing in soil with organic nutes my well water comes out at 8.1 and I never adjust ph. Just harvested 18 oz's purple kush under a 600 watt lumatek.Don't have to adjust ph using organics if your soil is good.
