Has anyone heard of LED's for growing

Theres a bunch of sites out there saying you can grow with LED's. Their even saying they work better than HID or HPS, I find this hard to believe. Anyone tried em?
(there might be another post on this, i searched, didnt see anything)

yeah u can grow wit em but ill keep my hps till the leds can get me same result

LEDs don't get a lot of love. I haven't seen a full grow, from start to finish, on here. They might do some good as filler lights, but I don't think you can maintain a grow on them compared to CFL or HID.
