have I really screwed up and need to start over, or can they be saved?

I started a few WW seeds about 4 weeks ago. I started them in Jiffy Pots, then moved them to 4" sq. pots, and now they are in 3 gal. pots. The soil is a mixture of organic topsoil, perlite, and peat. I have them under 4 T12 fluros and 6 cfl's, 24hrs a day. The room temp stays at about mid 70's but has occasionally gotten up to 80 for a couple of hours. The RH stays around 55%. I have never fertilized them.

My concern is that they are only about 3" tall and only have 3, maybe 4, sets of leaves on them. They seem to have stalled out or just quit growing. I'm wondering what the average/usual size of a 4 week old WW plant started from a seed should be? Can these seeds be saved? Or do I need to just chuck them at this point and buy new seeds and start over? What the hell did I do wrong?

give them a lite feeding maybe 1/4 strength nutes or a little less because its the first feeding. then let the soil dry out so the pot gets lite then plain water. switch your lighting schedule to 18/6 and they will grow.

i use shunshine mix and veg under flouros and cfl's for 3 weeks, then 400w MH for 3 weeks. so at 4 weeks they are between 10 and 12" tall. at 6 weeks from seed they are 18" and ready for flower. i use 18/6 when they pop through the soil. a lot of different strains i use so not just WW as to what your asking.

Are you saying that your plants have been under those lights 24/7 for the past month? Caveat: I'm new to this. But if so, that doesn't sound right. I think some more experienced growers will chime in soon. Best of luck.

i would try to go the organic route if you can so prolly get a grow formula and a bloom formula

or add guano, kelp, bloodmeal, bonemeal etc to yer soil if you wanna transplant or mix in after about 3 weeks of growth

not sure what is best but i use foxfarms. if your plants are nice and green you may be able to hold off for another week before feeding.
i have used MG and works ok but you got start them out low dosage. do a little research on some good nutes and put them on 18/6.

if ur using MG try to get something with low NPK since MG is high and could burn ur plants, the 24/7 is fine, i perfer 18/6 because the plants grow during dark periods best. but you can still keep it at 24/7.

lol thats funny cuz i was gonna suggest Fish Emulsion or Bone Meal or Blood Meal, but i dont use MG so i wouldnt know if it would burn them

thank you everyone for your posts and help, I will try the 18/6 and try a fert/nute regimen based on your recommendations. Hopefully I can save my plants and not have to start all over.

My plants stopped growing at about the same stage as yours. Everyone said I was imagining it - watching them too closely - but looking back, they definitely were not growing. I repotted them in 5 gallon pots and put them under 400 watt MH 18/6 - gave them a light feeding and they took off. They are still about 1 month behind what they should be - but they are healthy and growing fast. Some took off right away and some only recently got over whatever hurdle it was that held them back. I have no idea what stunted them and caused an extra 30 days of veg - but am pretty sure they are fine now and will be ready to begin flowering in about 2 weeks.

That's great to hear....I really thought I was just being overly worrisome too, but I know something just isn't right. I am relieved to hear that they can be saved...I really didn't want to have to throw them out and start over. Thank you so much for the info.

I had to use mg for a while cause it was easy to find and cheap. It burns way to easy noobs and mg don't mix lol. Shultz 10-15-10 is alomost just as easy to find as mg and works alot better.

yeah I agree DO NOT USE MG!
MG is for lets say the plp that just want plants and couldn't care less after that, MS sucks, even more so for a noob.
