i was sitting down today thinking about getting ready to clone one of my girls for an outdoor.. i was thinking what would root faster.. a clone in just water or a clone that has been left in water for a day and then planted in soil (no rooting hormone)????.

i have a bubbler but it doesn't have enough room to fit all of the clones that i need so i usually root them in water or dirt so they will all be rooted at aprox the same time.. instead of putting some in the bubbler and some in soil. (not really willing to get a larger cloner)

Why dont you want to use gel? There are other factors involved in cloning too.The materials to clone with ease are very cheap when you think of the money and time you're saving. That said look on you tube,a movie called "A growers lot"This guy is brutal with his cuttings but he still uses powder for his rooting compound.Good luck:peace:

no i have rooting powder.. it's just that i was wondering would the day or 2 in water have any effect on how fast they rooted when you put them in soil (with or without rooting powder)

I don't think it would be a bad thing.. i would leave them in water for 24 hours, then dip them in hormone then plant them in soil, making sure its always moist.. :) should make the stem softer... also dont forget about cutting slits on the sides of the stem to allow the water/hormone to get in and for the roots to grow out easyer

yeah.. awesome.. i think i'll keep them in for a day or 2 then put the hormone on them and put them in some small cups in order to root them..
