I'm new to this forum and I have looked around on ya'lls website and I have not found a clear answer to my question, so I am hoping maybe someone can help me. I am new to growing, this is my first serious grow and I am building my NFT system tomorrow. I already have air stones and a pump with resevor, so I still need several more things.
Anyways on to my question, I am growing in a 10 x 10 room which I have built 6 5 inch PVC pipes that are 7 foot long. They hold 5 plants a pipe for a total of 30 plants in the room. There is 20 inches between each hole/plant in the PVC pipe, is that enough room or can I fit them closer together so I can grow more without hurting my quality and yield?
I am wanting a 90 day grow, because I will have another following a month later. But could someone explain to me, or tell me if I have interpreted what I read right. After my seeds are germinated and have sprouted roots I plant them in my medium, Sure-Grow, and make sure the roots are wet or getting misted because its a hydro system, but to the lights. From that moment on, I want them on a 16 hour light & 8 hour dark schedule for 2 months during the vegetation stage. After that for the last month during the flowering stage change the light cycle to 12 and 12. I also read that during the Veg. stage I should use MH lighting and change to High Pressure Sodium lights for the flowering stage. I understand light spectrum's etc. But I just need someone to tell me what the best kind of lights I should get, besides LED, and the lighting schedule.
I also read in this forum that it is good to run HPS & MH at the same time during flowering and vegetation stages, is this true? Also how many Lumen's or Watts do I need for each plant during veg and flowering stage for best results?
