Having trouble with clones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so..... i have never had any problems whatsoever with clones. i have always used miracle grow seed germ and cutting soil with no nuts except trace amts (no time release) tap water from a britta faucet let sit for 24-48 hrs and rooting gel from walmart. and a humidity dome and i have had no problems whatsoever.

Now here is my problem i moved and reset up my grow op and suddenly every single clone is failing. (after 2 weeks not a single root when i check and finally pulled from soil......NOTHING):wall:
well i am doing everything exactly the same i even started sterilizing all my instruments and what not with alcohol then rinsing them in hot water so the alcohol wont hurt the cuttings......

any ideas? all help would be greatly appreciated.

my method is to have the soil pre mixed and dampened with the good water i let sit then i poke a hole with a sterile tooth pick for the cutting then cut from a very healthy and vigorous mother plant in vegg and within 5 seconds into rooting gel let sit there for 10 seconds or so then straight to soil an under a dome and i open it once a day for a few seconds to let in fresh air i even tried not touching it for a few days.

If you had 100% success before, but not now, I would suspect something in the environment has changed. Is it cooler there? I have a hard time imagining why an exact method would work in one locale and not another if it isn't an environmental variable.

check the humidiyt of the area and the temps, as serapis said it has to be an enviromental change. is there a rad in the room that wasnt in the other. when you took the cuttings did you use the exact same routine, were you distracted and left the cuttings for a while . the answers there somewhere but only you can answer it.
good luck

i am always exact due to the fact i have OCD so there is absloutely no chance that i was distracted i always cut at a 45 degree angle for optimum surface area and according to my equipment the temp and humidity is the same as always 76 degrees 80% humid i have evaulated everything i can think of the soil is the same, the water i started using bottled to be sure there is no chlorine and i ph'd the water, i am using the same cloning gel. and as i have said i painstakingly ensured the exact same environmental variables which is easy due to the fact i grow inside of a grand wardrobe box so i only have to control inside of the box.

this is just driving me nuts i am on the verge of losing my best breed well not losing but out of commission for a month or so running out of things to cut.

Go get you some plugs that are flat and swell when water is put on them, its just too hard to clone in that soil,The flat disc seem to take root easier and they are cheap as hell. Getting the rapid rooter plugs is the easiest medium if you have access to them...Get rid of that dirt

My immediate thought was environmental pertaining to humidity mostly but now I think that it is possible something in the new room is obstructing......did you disinfect and clean the new space enough if at all? If your method is the same then it has to be the new room and what is in it that is preventing the clones from taking. Mold or some other airborne bacteria?

so just to be clear, you started using bottled water on this grow and not on the last? is that right, if so thats where your problem lies. either that or the soil.it does seem strange that this set of cuttings has not come out for you so the only things it can be are the things you have changed. especially since none of the cuttings have taken.
hope you get it sorted.

For myself I always had a problem with with clones, then I stopped being so careful with them, cleaning blades with alcohol ect. They do better with tap water right out of the faucet, that chlorine is important in keeping down bacteria fungus and mold.

Check out post by Al B Fuct on cloning in rockwool!

i tried several diff grows to see whats wrong and i changed the water to botteled assuming that in this new apt has clorine content to high for plants thats the only reason i tried bottled water and as far as needing clorine for bacteria the rooting homone i use has fungicide and something that kills bacteria in it(just to be shure i have tried diff rooting hormones). and i grow in a grand wardrobe box that is inside a closet and i cleaned the closet (i mean the entire closet) with bleach and let it air out before even putting the box in there and i always keep the inside of the box clean as hell. i mean im not a new grower i have been growing successfully for years thats why i am so damn dumbstruck by this and im like WTF i have always done it the same way what can be wrong?

i guess i will take mr therapy man's advice and try the disks but if its not working in soil i dont see how they would be any different.

I have great success with rapid rooter and olivias cloning gel, Also, are you stripping off the outer flesh at the bottom?
I know knowone wants to hear Don't use MG, But it is the cheapest stuff and you always get what you pay for.
I say it over and over, Not one hydro store sells it and Most all expert growers don't touch it. Just sayin.

check your water. your other water might have been badass but not so much where your at. I live with 75 ppm water at my house but when i set up my grow elsewhere, my water supply was at 275 ppms or somethin. that might help.

jenna haze, after you dip the cuttings in gel, just before you plug them, dip into great white, beneficial bacteria, you will be amazed!,,and try rock wool for rotting, not soil!,mist once a day,,only!
