I am not an expert by any means, on the contrary, I came here a few days ago seeking help for exactly the same issue (see my pictures here In my humble opinion your pots are way too small, it needs more soil and perhaps different type of nutrients. When I replaced my pot for a bigger one yesterday the roots have engulfed the soil completely to the point that no one grain of soil fell on the ground. The damned thing was covered with roots and looked like a weave basket. Definetly not a good thing for a maryjane plant. I believe the reasons are two; outdoor growth is better left on the ground and also the quality of the seeds today creates a much larger root system and absorbs every availabe soil possible. Than again I am not an expert and could be wrong on my assessment. Good luck and good smokes!!

i was thinking of re potting but didnt want to do it coz of the size of the plant, ok cool will try it ill update soon many thanks happy smoking!
