Health Canada Proposes Amendments to MMPR

Less than 10% of doctors would sign MMAR forms and all those forms asked for was verification of a category 1 or 2 medical condition, they weren't prescriptions ("medical documents"). Doctors do not want to be the gatekeepers, they never have. With these amendments I think we will see the number of doctors willing to sign any kind of MMJ form plummet even more. If even 5% are willing to sign after this I'll be shocked, I'm thinking it'll be more like 1-2%. HC's idea of "reasonable access" isn't reasonable at all so yes it will be challenged in court eventually. HC loves to waste tax payer money in court.
Well I had to drive 8+ hours to get my medical document LOL now that reasonable access lol. The prescription is going on the wall today next to the PPL, will see how that works out in case I get a knock on the door. On the bonus side I'll be testing the new Gavita dual ended 600W Ballast/Bulbs soon. I have a customer running 8 of the 400V Gavita Pro Ballasts side by side with 1000W in air cooled tubes. The 600W killed the 1000W its was 1lb vs 1.5 lb for the 600W.

Holy shit...Gavita is that good eh?...I knew that different bulbs make a difference, didn't know the ballasts mattered?
Dual ended?

I didn't believe it at first till I lit one up, damn its bright. The new ones will be adjustable and using a dual end version of the Philips Green bulb. The guy was running 8 1000W in air cooled tubes and 8 Gavita Pro 600W. They got 1.5lb per light on the Gavita side. They're running a second test just to make sure it wasn't a fluke before they switch. Also the Gavitas had to be lifted quite high as they were causing heat issues on the leaves. That's a massive reduction in power and heat in the room.

Also the new ballasts will be 120/240 which might be crazy for tent grow but would have to be for SOG as the bulb/ballast has to be about 30" from the top of the canopy. http://www.rambridge.com/product_groups/181?country=ca&locale=en Bulbs http://www.lighting.philips.com/pwc_li/main/shared/assets/downloads/pdf/horticulture/leaflets/overview_growing_your_profits-hid-en.pdf

Also Philips is coming out with their own ballast/bulb combo like the Gavita Pro

Leaffan.

Relax. It's not worth the paper its written on Man.

:)

lol I wonder how much they actually paid the moron to think and write that up?
Took no thought what so ever.
Personal gain all the way.

It's a lot of talk with nothing to back it up!

Wait they are going to pay the LP's money to extract this info? Why the fuck didn't they just use the money to hire inspectors for MMAR.

"The MMPR aim to treat dried marihuana as much as possible like other narcotic drugs" next paragraph::
"Despite the move to treat dried marihuana as much as possible like other narcotic drugs, to date, the scientific evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of dried marihuana for medical purposes has not reached the level required by the Food and Drugs Act and its regulations, to which all other marketed narcotic drugs are subject".
Well which is it? If they can't figure out how to make marijuana 'like other narcotic drugs', maybe it's because it's a PLANT! How about they pull their heads out of their asses and put it in the same category as aloe vera and herbal medicines where it belongs.

their heads are stuck way to far up their asses to be pulled out.

before they keep going onto the next fuck up, ..they gotta fix the first one. lol

HC's best shot at shutting down all doctors who prescribe for MMPR.
It's not going to fly. Your info is safe. For now anyway. :)

Hey leaf...I thought pnp because that guy is like white on rice. I think he is a snake in the grass...I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Seems everytime he's making a statemt he got his buddy the lawyer beside him. I thought I read in here as well that he was part and parcel to the new "system" . Either way, someone has some very persuasive powers. I like the idea of big pharma havng a hand in this...wouldn't surprise me.

court challenge might have to filed by pot docs themselves. Wonder how a judge would see it? would a judge side with a doc who wants a clinic just for prescribing pot? Guess they would have to make the argument that they have no choice but to have these clinics because family docs won't sign because of pressure from college.

Then the College would pull the doctor's licence.
I'm not so sure. Removing a doctors' license and his ability to earn a living for prescribing a LEGAL medicine would result in a lawsuit against the college that they have no chance of winning. Any doctor with any self-respect would protect his right to treat his patients the way that works best for them. The doctors are protected by the same charter as the rest of us. I have a huge dislike and distrust of doctors, so the only one I have 'seen' in 3 years is a Skype doc at a mmj clinic. I've written an email to Health Canada advising them of my intent to sue for damages should they release any of my information to ANYBODY.

Hey Chris...great post. One problem is that it isn't viewed as a medicine by the Colleges, or Health Canada. It's just a court imposed narcotic.
A HUGE KUDOS to you for emailing Health Canada. Thank you.

Hey Chris....can you post a template of what you sent HC? Some people don't like to write stuff like that and maybe a standardized version would send a stronger message to them?? I'm gonna post mine as soon as I complete it. Just a thought.

Here is what I sent. I'm not sure what good it will do, but I saved it for the lawsuit!

Health Canada Medical Marijuana Access

To whom it may concern:

It has recently been reported that Health Canada is proposing to release my personal information, obtained under the MMAR program, to various medical governing bodies. I reluctantly provided that information with the expectation of confidentiality and privacy and with the understanding that it would only be accessed at the request of a Canadian police agency. I am therefore asking that you do not violate my rights by permitting anyone, not authorized by me, to access to my files and I am notifying you of my intent to seek damages should you allow it to happen.

I'm starting to think HC is bi-polar or something. They talk about a billion dollar industry and 400,000+ patients in 10 years and all the jobs and tax revenue blah blah blah. Then they do shit like this that will prevent any of that from happening. So what is it? Do they want a billion dollar industry or do they want to completely regulate a harmless substance to the point that it just drives everyone back underground? Fucking mind boggling.
