Yes, but a house fire is singular event unlike illness which is often permanent. So what good is having health insurance when they can, and do, cancel it after you show the first signs of a long-term illness?

If an insurance company could cancel your fire coverage the second a fire breaks out - they would - leaving you fucked as the serious damage takes place.
