Me and a friend were smoking and talking the other day about growing techniques.

We came to a conclusion (which im sure you will all agree on) that any stress in a plants life can lower yield and/or thc quality!

We were thinking about the lighting cycle of the plants.... Dont you think its unusual that when we have light cycles that the lights we use just switch on and off instead of a more natural way of gradually turning on and then fading to dark?? I mean isnt natures way a little easier on the plant as it gets to adapt to sunrise and sunset??

I just wanted to know if anyone has ever tried this and if it would make much of a difference when it comes to the well being of the plant.

And surprisingly I was NOT high when I wrote this haha! :joint:

I have allways thought that gradually reducing is better, thing is plants can get pretty big in that time. its more convient to switch straight to 12/12. Saves time as well. peace

i think you misunderstood me, what i meant is when you say have a 18/6 light cycle instead of the light just turning off after 18 hours wouldnt it be better if the light faded to dark mimicking night and day?? and this includes flowering also...

My plants have never shown any signs of stress from my lights just shutting off. I see where your coming from, but I don't think that this is much cause for stress. The plants do however show stress fromm schedule changes that aren't tapered.
