Heat issue no other place to go!

Dude first off if you're in the seedling stage you dont even need your hps light on it yet. not for another 2 to 3 months for them to mature. switch the light bulb or use a shop light. that is wayyyy less heat and that will eliminate ur heat problem. plus if you have your seedlings in the hps light all it will do is stretch and e-longate your plants.. leaving them weak and not grow a strong stem to support its self.. ur clone for now u do need the hps so try and look for small areas around your mobile home to move either ur seedlings or clone. maybe even a homemade grow box from hard wood thats cheap. im having the same problem with nosey neighbors and growing area also.. but i made it efficient.. i was having all types of problems.. theres a way to fix it.. just think

Cool I'll start looking at some 4" fans.
Wop, take it from someone who has in the last month or so finally conquered the same exact problem you describe. I did everything, including all that you describe above and was pulling my hair out. Everything the other posters say about intake/exhaust is spot on. You're fighting a losing battle without good exhaust. But where I differ is in the fan you should get. Don't go with the 4" fan. Always go larger than you think you need and have a fan speed control to dial back when you can. Believe me, you will be happy to spend a tad more for a bigger fan that can dial back but have the power when necessary.

When I bought my 6" inline fan and installed it, all those heat problems were done. Then it's just a matter of tinkering with it to get it tuned in how you want it. I looked everywhere for a good deal on a good fan and was about to go with a cheaper no-name model when I found this 6" Can Fan 335 CFM with built-in speed controller for $125. It was $144 shipped and I had it in about five days. IMO, this is what you should get:

Just another thought as I consider your problem further. You say that you are planning to vent outside through the floor, which is a good idea, but you do know that the exhaust is going to smell pretty strongly when you get to late veg and flower, right? This scent can travel a good distance depending on conditions and is one of the key ways that people get busted. Unless you are in a remote area without neighbors and traffic, you will most definitely need a carbon filter. I understand you live in an intelligent state that recognizes the absurdity of marijuana prohibition (lucky you by the way), but you said you want to stay anonymous with your neighbors. If so, there's another necessary expense.

I still like that 6" can fan, but if the budget won't allow it, you can get a cheaper 4" fan and combine it with a filter for the same $125.

Pair something like this with something like this is an option. Check Ebay if you are having to go cheap. You might find a paired set for cheaper that you can use until you can afford to upgrade to the Can.

Like i said.. i dont think the hps light is great for veggy.. but the inline fan and exhaust are onpoint.. ONLY IF YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE USING THAT LIGHT RIGHT NOW. im in 104 degree heat right now and one room is outside and it stays 82 to 85 degrees in there.. 80 at night. using natural air itself to vent and cooling fans to cool and humidifier to clean the air and de humidify.
that was the hardest room i have to keep cool.. i still have to check on them everyday to make sure it isnt to hot. if you want some pics of that room just let me know ill show you my set up.. i spent no more than 250 dollars for lights, ballast and any equipment u can think of to complete my set up. its very very basic. and my first harvest with that set up was terrific. nice rock hard buds.. so frosty.. was bag seed.

MediMan: I have no other place to grow in my house I have 2 small kids that i need to keep out of my garden.
I'm not spending anymore money on lights. I understand that my seedlings prolly should not be under this light just yet but even with the heat seem to be okay.
Tho in 3 weeks it will be just as hot or hotter so... I dont see how it would grow out stretched and elongated, It's a MH bulb and is meant to promote growth during the veg state of a plant?

I'll check out that website you posted Dude. I have not set my mind on any fan as of yet. I still have 2 weeks(from today) until i can even order the fan.
My goal is to be able to run my light and shut the door at the same time and stay in the 68-78F area. I plan on starting with my exhaust fan first blowing under the house
with a tube that goes to the upper part of the room venting down. and it's not the smell I worry about It was the light of the grow room. My closet is right next to a widow so at night the room is very bright
A Friend of mine about a mile away just did a grow of 15 and had 0 issue with smell and tells me not to worry. LOL...

That fan on Cheaphydro seems to be legit I might just snag that.
It is a great fan. I bought one myself and did a ton of research before I did. This is the cheapest you will find it anywhere. It sells for upwards of $200 in some places.

As for your friend who grew 15 plants with zero smell...I would not take any advice from that person anymore.

Check this out, your looking for a cheap intake or exhaust fan, if you have some basic wiring skill and a 12v phone charger, you can purchase this..these things are made to vent boat engine housing, they'll work good for a closet or box http://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-Turbo-3000-In-Line-Blower-Water-Resistant-12-Volt/14150765, or the 4" http://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-Turbo-4000-Quiet-Blower-Water-Resistant-12-Volt/14150767

go to home depot, get a 3-4" Y or T splitter in the ducting section, get some 3-4" ducting, now you can either cut off a few inches of the bottom of your closet door, and use the fan as and exhaust, cutting a hole in the closet ceiling, mounting the fan to exhaust into the attic, attach splitter and drape ducting around the light to pull the hot air out, and cool air will flow in under the door. Or you can mount the fan near an a/c or cool area, run the venting into the closet or even inside the closet just cut a hole in the door and mount the intake from inside the closet door..no light leaks no door adjustments, and put the incoming air close to your pots so it keeps the air cooler, but i think you would need an exhaust more importantly if you had to choose one or the other, best thing to do would be both intake and exhaust because fresh air is important. can achieve this for under 100 bucks and be good to go.

So since my wife has a concern with smell i started looking at fans with carbon filters and I came across this on ebay.
Not saying that I'm going to buy this kit it's just an example for now. http://cgi.ebay.com/6-CARBON-AIR-FILTER-COMBO-INLINE-FAN-EXHAUST-inch-SIX-/120638835860?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c16a28c94

Would i still have to drill down into the floor to vent it out? or could i just set it up with the door open and exhaust it into my bedroom?
Or would it just suck hot air from the top of the room and vent the filtered air from the fan sitting on the floor?
How much would the temp drop with such an item?

I ended up putting a Ac unit in my bedroom window for the summer to keep it cool and with the door to the closet open i have 1 fan and a humidifier, I now sit at 73-82F during the day with humidity at 50%. The fan stays on 24hrs a day and the humidifier shuts off when the lights go out. Plants are looking great.
