Hey guys, I was buyin shit for my grow setup and was wonderin does anyone use heat pad dome clone trays? ive seen them but never really seen anything for them anywhere. just thought id ask. Thanks dudes
Should work... Never actually used one but have heard that they may get too hot... The common way that ive heard people getting around this is by wrapping them in a towel
I would spend an extra few bucks and get a heat pad made for gardening. I bought one from Walmart before, less than twenty bucks, came with a tray and lid.
^^ just get the one made for it if you can.
i use one, helps root growth, as mentioned above,
and also creates humidity which is vital.
You don't want it too hot.
But... You can do it without a pad also.
I have better/faster results with one.
i bought a heat pad from a pet store (think its for lizards or summin) anyways i dont use it, used it for a bit but was to hot burnt some of my roots and drove the temperature up in my cloning tent. getting on perfectly fine without it.
if you do decide u want one i would just sugguest getting an adjustable 1
Seedling mats are around $25 here and they are worth it! You will get higher humidity
in the dome and that helps the cuttings a lot. Without roots, clones have to rely on
a wet environment to get them the water they need to root and thrive.
Like some one said. You only need it in a cold places. I clone in my room, and temps are 75F so I don't need it, as I get roots in 7 days from 4 strains right now-YES.
68-78 degrees is a good temp for propagating clones. Use a heating matt to keep that range, if your at that temp I wouldn't reccommend one. Stem rot comes on quickly in a warm wet climate. Removing the dome after 24-36hrs is also recommended and just mist once a day from there.
