ThanksHey erl, have a look at the heatsinks above (they are links), they all have fins that are ribbled (this is to get a bigger surface, to have more heat dissipation)
Nice @alesh thanks for that.....am designed something sexy for leafy vegetables. Probably COMPLETE overkill, but it will be a thing of beautyYou might try GAMAalumínium. They have a very wide selection. The company is based in Slovakia.

Don't forget that none electronics project is complete without an enclosure Which would make SDS the only person there who actually finished a light.Nice @alesh thanks for that.....am designed something sexy for leafy vegetables. Probably COMPLETE overkill, but it will be a thing of beauty
More info...COB power, active/passive, which HS (number of fins at least)?Any ideas on optimal fin height? I am thinking 40mm should suffice no? One COB centred on a 150mm width and 200mm length of heatsink. Weld these heatsinks together 6 at a time to provide a 350 x 600 array to cover a 300 x 600 shelf.
Fully enclosed systemDon't forget that none electronics project is complete without an enclosure Which would make SDS the only person there who actually finished a light.

Better probably to e-mail .thanks Stardustsailor, i'm awaiting authorisation to see prices
Like x 10,000,000Better probably to e-mail .
(I'm not sure if there's a automated authorising routine ,there...
Right now is 22:30 and all small scale private companies in the country are closed.)
I know that the ST20 heatsink has a price of around 16 Euros (non- black anodised version ) ,
while the 703 case has a price of about 30 Euros .
(You can ask for discount ,I guess ... )
The case is made of 7 parts ( 2x sides ,bottom lid,top lid ,front panel ,rear panel and inner plate ).
Case is made of hard steel sheet with the inner plate ,the rear and the front panels made out of aluminium.
It has also 2x plastic/alum combo handles on front panel .
Really rugged & heavy-duty case ,but it needs lots of work
(cutting openings,drilling holes,sanding,rustproofing and painting ),
to be transformed into a LED grow light case. But it's worthy all the way .
Cheers.
Where did you get the holders buddy?I'm mailing them for prices right now, my cobs have arrived 20x cxa3070 AB with cobholders
Could somebody calculate the max. heat dissipation for 1 IT 5498 (1261mm) with 0,62°C/W for 150mm
I'm thinking 5 per bar with 2 vents on each end, just trying to figure out how high i could go
You sound like you're on precisely the same design as me I would share my sketches....but they're embarrassing!the idea is to blow air from one end to another and to have 2 bars hanging on a shelf (L-profiles) with wholes at the the end of the shelf for the ventilators, so i don't need a case but I want the height to be as little as possible
weight shoudn't be a problem i guess since i do not plan to lower or heigher them, but put something under the plants to achieve the appropriate height. Top shelf should be ok since that one is ment for 2e month of flower and then the stretch will be over, I think about cutting the roof out for the top shelf.
I have 'ideal' cobholders so eventually I think reflectors will follow
Which are those ? 600mm option ? I can't find it at their site...
Just ask them if they can cut for you a 600 mm length...the idea is to blow air from one end to another and to have 2 bars hanging on a shelf (L-profiles) with wholes at the the end of the shelf for the ventilators, so i don't need a case but I want the height to be as little as possible
