Hello Everyone!! My 1st grow: 150W HPS semi-stealth micro cabinet

ugh... well I got the money I was expecting, but with christmas so close most of it is gone... so in about a month and a half Im getting more than enough to get this started... looking at probably 1500 total for my new cab... just wait till you see it LOL veg room, flower room, and clone room in one box.... inspiration from here: https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/220054-first-grow-400-watt-hps.html sucks though I was really looking foreward to getting this started

Looks like a solid setup, can't wait to see what you do with it. Are you going to go with the 400 watt hps like he did? Should be really nice. Sucks about the holidays, though. It takes all the money out of my wallet too. Luckily, graduation money is still pouring in and should finance a portion, if not all of my new 600w dwc tent.
 
ya im going with the 400W hps for sure... ive already priced out EVERYTHING I will need... since I was unable to start when I wanted... at least I know for sure how much its gonna cost me... i also have this idea of a removable screen with height adjustments for a scrog setup... we will see how that works... i doubt very well anyways LOL...

I'm upgrading to a 600w 4x4 tent after Christmas, so I can focus on quality and quantity for the week old trainwreck I just started. I'm also switching to a DWC setup, so it should be really interesting.

ahh dammit! i just got to this point in your journal and i was gonna suggests you run a 2 liter bottle sog being that you are using a 150 hps(like myslef), and you have a mother room. anyhow, that is what i will be doing with my next grow and i wanted someone else to try it:neutral: but nice grow and keep up the great work! 600hps is gonna get you some DANK!!!

Sounds like it'll work out great. I'm a big fan of scrog setups.

It isn't too late! Depending on what I decide to do with my CFL cabinet (I fucking hate CFL's BTW), I may turn the flowering cabinet into something like that. I'd like to see how yours turns out and maybe you'll convince me to try it...

Anyways, I ordered the 600w setup this evening. I ended up buying a 600w lumatek, 6" centrifugal fan, air-cooled hood, and homebox xl grow tent. I can't wait to get it but it should come right as I am harvesting next week. I'll update with pictures of the buds when I get home.

This new setup should blow my current one out of the water. I'll update with pictures in about a week when I return home and get my stuff. Should be very exciting to both harvest my current crop and get all this new shit. I can't wait!
 
ya man... the 600W will definately be nice... im sitting here so irritated that I cant start mine for another month... maybe 2... i wanna start LOL... super stoked to see pic updates... HURRY lol nahh jk man take ur time LOL... the buds will only be that much more fat LOL bongsmilie
 
Fans failed on the cab while I was on vacation. 3 months of work for nothing. I would take pics of the fried plants but I would probably end up breaking the camera out of rage. I'm pretty fucking pissed.
 
that sucks, how long do you think you had no ventilation? pics might be a llittle helpful, as these things might not be entirely gone yet. remember they are weeds and they do take alot of stress in their natural environment. still sucks to hear though...150w hps shouldnt have been that rough on it though :(

It had to be at least a few days but not the whole week. A 150w in a tiny cab like mine without any ventilation is definitely a death sentence for any living thing even if it is a "weed". Not to mention that the plants were in the most critical stage of their life cycle, so it fucked everything up even if I can get them to recover. The potency and final yield isn't going to be anywhere near expected. :cry:

The one plant I expected to be super dank was so dry that I harvested almost an ounce of bud so dry that I had to stick a lemon peel in the jar with it overnight. Since it dried out in the soil before a proper flush, the smoke is pretty harsh but should get better with age. The other plant and easyryder was half roasted and can hopefully make a full recovery to a proper harvest. They probably have a week or so left. Both clones were roasted beyond redemption. They were dead as a fucking doornail. Luckily the chick I got the seeds from has more and I can grow this promising bagseed out properly on my new and upcoming 600w DWC tent.
 
aww man... that sucks so bad dude id be :evil: too... at least you may be able to salvage some of it until you get the new cab up and running... good luck man bongsmilie
 
i can imagine, ive been on vacation for over a week now and still have about 2 and a half weeks left of vacation. my girls are about 5 weeks into flowering, any sort of failure for me would definitely sentence my ladies to death. keep ur head up and get some pics of this though!

I can salvage all of it, fortunately. The new tent gets here on Wednesday so that should help relieve some of my frustration with this hobby.

hmm doesnt look too bad actually. its gonna get you high although i imagine it will prolly taste like shit lol. and yes i am nervous as fuck! if i get home to a tragedy i will prolly shed a couple tears then immediately get into my sog and buy more lights and equipment to grow like a mad scientist to take out my anger and make up for the loss lol

It isn't too bad out of the vape and it does get me pretty toasted so it isn't the end of the world. Oh but what it could have been....

Yep, the best medicine for an equipment malfunction is bigger and better equipment. If I didn't have a badass setup on the way, I'd be way more distraught over this ordeal. Do you at least have someone watering it every so often or is it automated? A week is the max I could go out of town but apparently, even that was too much. :evil:
