So what do you all think a fair donation for an Oz of top quality bud should be?

I have seen anywhere between 200-250 in RI. However, the amount of donation is negotiated between the patient and caregiver. Any of my financially stressed patients gets reduced compensations for example.

Before you even think about opening a dispensary, familiarize yourself with non-profit corporation laws, how to manage taxes and cash flow, and basic accounting for a small business. Your sources of revenue are very few, so its very simple stuff.

Read this, should get you a LITTLE bit familiar with MA non-profit laws.

Thank you really appreciate the resource, im not plannng on trying to open a dispensory any time soon first i want to establish myself as a caregiver and get all the proper documentation to be one once theyre realeased in May, a few questions, do you anticipate there being a limit to how many patients a caregiver can have? and will there be a overall plant limit if you have say more than 3-5 patients really appreciate any info you being an established caregiver is an invaluable information source for us aspiring caregivers

Anyone have any information on forming collectives with other caregivers what it might entail, ive been lobbying for medical MJ for years and am overjoyed that its finally in MA, ive been interested in forming a collective and eventually a dispensory since i was 17 and now i can make my dream a reality so any info would be greatly appreciated
Are you currently a caregiver ? I would concentrate on that first. To have patients relying on you for quality meds on a regular basis can be a bit much for some. Get used to running multiple strains (at least 4-6) and learn how to make tinctures and edibles. Most people see being a care giver as a money making venture, you can lose your patients just as quickly as you got them if you can't deliver on a regular schedule at a competitive price and quality product. Patients will shop around. And in MA don't plan on getting more than 200 an oz. on average. I have 7 patients now and they did their research before we even did paperwork.

it is hard to find someone ho is willing to give a chance to become a caregiver if you cant demonstrate you can grow

Currently only growing for myself i plan on taking on patients once i have an established prepetual grow probably between may/June as to deliver on a regular basis consistently for my patients, as far as quality of what i grow i can only let my results speak for themselves 100% organic always and i pride myself on producing top shelf medicine, and i dont mind sayin i manicure a mean bud, but as far as taking on patients with no guidlines yet being set how much would a caregiver be able to grow per patient?, did you do all the non profit paperwork already?and how difficult is it finding patients? sorry for all the questions ive just been waiting a long time to do this and want to know all i can going into it

I was fortunate enough to become involved in the legalization movement in MA a fews ago so over time I developed a network of great people who both grew meds and needed meds. It was through personal recomendations from folks who had experienced my meds in the past that I was able to develop a strong patient base. Every patient I am working with is a referral from someone i know. I can imagine it would be very difficult to jump in as a caregiver without having some contacts that will work with you. Like picking a doctor people want to work with people they can trust and feel comfortable speaking to. Just don't be one of those people who advertises on craigslist. It's an open invitation for leo to find you and you may find people trying to take advantage of you. I have heard horror stories. I wouldnt concern yourself about guidelines just yet. If you wait for the state you will be behind the curve. Don't know if you qualify for a doctors note yourself because that is usually the way a lot of folks commence their caregiver project

Yes i qualify for a card in the process of getting it probably going to take my medical records to the MMJ clinic in Framingham also from western MA and i would never think to advertise on craigslist i like you prefer to work with individuals whom i trust implicitly right now working on my own to establish my prepetual grow with the best genetics and presenting 100% organic finely manicured top quality medicine to my patients, im definately no amateur in the matter which is why im ready to become a caregiver and i have plenty still to learn but this is my passion like fitness and crossfit its who i am and what i love and i go 100% in what i do, appreciate the advice from an experienced caregiver as always man:leaf:

This is 100% correct. Being a caregiver isnt just about growing. If you want to be well established, interactions between you and your patients are very important.

A historic moment for me.

As of today, I am now a Medical Marijuana Patient in the State of Massachusetts.

Let freedom ring!

Talk to primary care about your condition and the benefits you may receive from cannabis.

Pull complete medical history

Bring records to Cannamed

Recommendation ensues

Cannabis is a very important medicine for my condition, it has effectively taken me off strong pain killer-type medications.

also.
Got my patient status last week at Casco bay in danvers. Stress free and quick. Was in and out in less than a half hour.

Get your medical records from your doctor.
Make an appointment-bring your $200.
Talk to the doctor-bring your records. If you don't have records for anything too severe and at the top of the list of conditions accepted tell the doctor you use cannabis to help relieve headaches, migraines, or any other type of pain. Some people use cannabis so they don't have to take strong and addictive pain medications. If you don't have, or can't get medical records, you can also see the doctor for 3 visits and he can then recommend cannabis for you as well.
Then take your fancy piece of paper and celebrate!

Awsome and congratulations. I actually was thinking of going to casco bay but for some reason I thought they would be less lenient than cannamed. I guess not.

I teach people organic growing procedures. Typically, this does involve grow site analysis, design and implementation. Both indoor and outdoor, almost all plants.
